So, a weak, but well intentioned, Prime Minister goes to see the de facto King of Europe and comes back waving a document.
The PM then stands on the steps of no 10 and addresses the nation, concluding "My good friends, for the second time in our history, a British Prime Minister has returned from Germany bringing peace with honour. I believe it is peace for our time. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Go home and get a nice quiet sleep". Hmmm, Groundhog day anyone??!

Busy with work. It quietens off a little for Xmas.
I've not been fit enough to race either, so not been on to discuss any races.
Trying to get fit enough to race. Got my eye on Flower Scar - an area I know from being a kid but I've never run in the area.

You’ll need to go barefoot mind you. Not being able to afford shoes.

Over my 35 years of being able to vote there have been a number of occasions when the vote hasn't gone the way I hoped. On each occasion the result of the vote has been implemented and on some occasions such as with General Elections there is the scope to revisit the previous vote.

The country as a whole decided to leave. Arguments about who understood what are irrelevant as the debate was had just like all other political debates. Opinion was presented as fact, some facts were embellished and some outright whoppers were told. Find me a general election, even a council election where that hasn't happened.
The differences between "normal" election fraud and the fraud associated with the Brexit referendum are huge - partly because we did't know what we did't know - and if the result of a normal election is "wrong", the opportunity to correct it will come up soon enough.
We should ask if people want a second referendum - really a first knowledge based referendum - and if they want it, let them have it.

And if you/they don't like the result, have another one?

Suppose it is obvious that I am a remainer, but if a second referendum was also "leave". Regardless of the margin, I would take that as "game over". Unlike the first time, this time the people would actually have an idea of what they are voting for.

Slight diversion, for a certain of the "vote levers" immigration was a major driving force to their decision. I head yesterday about the EU migration falling but non-EU has reached an all time high. Seeing as the UK has control of non-EU migration why is that number increasing? They can't all be Indian doctors?

This is not a dig at anybody, I am just curious, suppose I could Google that question.

    Edit!
    It's complicated.

A second referendum would be fought with rhetoric not facts.

Any facts that voters dislike would be dismissed out of hand as project fear or sunsit upland fantasy as appropriate.

We’re beyond facts mattering to the majority.

Who would win will now be down to who can manipulate the electorate best. Who can “out rhetoric” the other.

And remind me again. Where will remain be finding it’s charismatic leadership from? Whoever it is will just be another “establishment” figure to be railed against.
