I put the majority of the blame on the racists. Without their solid support for Brexit, it’d never got across the line

No, this is a fundamental misunderstanding of representative democracy. You vote for the candidate who represents your views on the greatest number of issues; you can never expect a candidate to agree with you, or indeed with the majority of constituents, on every issue. If this was required, every candidate would be de-selected at every election!

Every policy should be posted on facebook with a like button, and a dislike button of course. Oh, hang-on, that would count me out.

Don't think so. There is no candidate to vote for in a referendum just an option. Surely the MP should carry out the wishes of the majority of his constituents.

This basically sums up about half of the remainers' argument..."anyone voting to leave is racist, are you a racist or are you a remainer?" It's incredibly flimsy!

Read what I said. I’m not calling 17.4 million people racist. I said the racists got the leave campaign over the line. Certainly I don’t think any racists voted for remain and those racists who did vote, let’s conservatively say there were 2 million of them, voted Farage and voted leave. It obviously must feel embarrassing to have depended on them so🤔

For the record nearly 4 million people voted for UKIP in 2015 and I’d classify most of them as racist

No, they are not just civil servants, required to implement Government policy. They should accept that Brexit will happen, because the Government has decided to implement the result of the referendum; but that still doesn't mean that they shouldn't voice their opposition to that policy.

Incidentally, here in the Loughborough constituency, our MP Nicky Morgan is doing an excellent job of carrying out the wishes of her constituents. The vote here was almost exactly 50% for Leave, and so Mrs Morgan is promoting Half-in-half-out (also known as the Norway option, although many Leavers would prefer the term "BINO"). That still hasn't prevented her from getting a huge amount of abuse from the more extreme Leavers; what appears in the Letters column of the local paper is just the printable stuff.

I'm interested to nail down what you class as racist, just for the record. Do you class the following statement as racist:

"I voted leave because i'm worried about a pull-factor driven and unmanageable population increase in the UK that i think is unsustainable on an infrastructure basis".
