Best Shoes for the Ben?

... its probably best to just look at what the winners wear.....

Good idea, and looking briefly at last years photos on the Borrowdale site it is mostly Walsh, but interestingly one of the early guys, from Bingley I think, is wearing the Puma Trailfox (?) which I could see might be good on the rock and steps but how would it cope with the green cliff?

Anyone tried these on 'The' Ben.

Why's that?

Mine aren't so good on rock and I'm thinking about Walshes, but the Mizuno's fit me really well.

The only bit of grip I got from the mizuno's was on the road and the first bit of path.
Once I hit the fearn banks and wetter rock that was the end of traction.
I could have come down the grass bank to the red burn faster in Mrs Stagger high heels. I was like bambi on ice.

Karl Gray had left his walsh's in the tent and run in 330's and came in 5th. He was very pleased with the grip so thats good enough for me.

sounds familiar - I haven't run since Burnsall where I nearly broke my ankle slipping off the top!
