I think leaving with a deal honours the result of the referendum. I think leaving without a deal would not.

I've made it clear I voted to remain and still think that's the best course for the country.

It looks like the DUP’s opposition will scupper the chances of the deal getting through Saturday’s vote in the Commons. But Juncker’s comments this afternoon that any extension request should now be rejected were very interesting. If the EU member states were to endorse that position it would mean MP’s would face a choice between the agreed deal or leaving with no deal. That would certainly change the dynamic but I suspect they won’t do this.

    but fingers crossed though eh?

    Consider you are the EU.

Allow an extension and based on polling you get a Boris Government strengthened or maybe with Brexit Party backing.

I think they might take the bird in the hand.

Time for a general election as those sitting in parliament cannot deliver the will of the people.

I agree Stagger, whether it will give you the result that you want...I’m not so sure, I think Brexit is a show that going to run and run.

Although this flies in the face of pretty much every single poll done in the last 2.5 years which have shown ‘the ‘will of the people‘ to actually be to remain in the EU. I’d show you a picture but for some daft reason the forum no longer allows me to - anyway look here -> https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EHMs6O7X...g&name=900x900 . It was only for a very short period, just before and just after the 2016 referendum, when Boris Johnson’s and Dominic Cumming’s lies about money for the NHS and a Turkish invasion had a spike effect on the leave campaign, that leave actually held the majority. Since then of course a fair few oldies have died and c 2 million kids have reached voting age 🤔

Of course that graph has nothing to do with undecided firming up their decision just before the vote.

You’re right Wheeze, it hasn’t (is that the lamest argument yet?)

Stolly, as a scientist I am acutely aware of the perils of ascribing cause and effect to contemporaneous events. I am merely pointing out that spikes on graphs can have multiple causes and we can never know the true agent without supporting evidence. Nothing 'lame' about that.
