After this cup of tea we are off to chase the goose that escaped early week, spotted her in a field. Unfortunately she can fly a little!
Caught her, I was ace.
The old bitch isn't for eating, she will be off to market as soon as possible, nothing but a troublemaker.
The 8 goslings are lined up for Christmas - but first keep them alive for 8 months!
Slow bike ride to Swithland Wood with my wife. Managed to lose her in the woods. Found her a few minutes later. With her complete absence of any sense of direction, she would make an excellent fell runner.![]()
Today's PDE was a bit of a duathlon. A 13 mile and 1200 feet bike ride and a 7 mile run.
Visibility good except in Hill Fog
10.16 miles, 3,465 feet, 2 hours 45 minutes, Wansfell ridge, back over Red Screes from the Kirkstone Inn. Six people on the fells in total. The Kirkstone car park is closed, but there were 4 cars parked on the road. Perfect day for it.
same as yesterday but with an additional up and down section at Hoghton Bottoms.

Included an interesting 10 minute natter with the gamekeeper for Hoghton Tower and Alum Scar Estates. Nice guy, and kept out distance of course
Lots of "traffic today". Felt a little awkward at times.

Canal was almost as busy this morning as it would be on any normal weekend.
Interestingly i saw no boats at all...!
I think if you're choosing to go out exercising, you're accepting that the ability to completely keep your distance from other people is somewhat taken out of your own hands.
I know today running miles down a canal towpath which is never more than about 1.5 metres wide, it's completely impossible to keep 2mtrs apart... Just got to make do, and i probably passed at least 20 other runners/cyclists/walkers, and we all just got on with it.
I understand if you're on an open fell/hill, it's probably a little easier.
Nice 20k with better half.

Cracking morning and good to be out.
