Noel charges £2/mile for his lung-burster up Shutlingsloe; but I would imagine that many fell runners would consider that to be a bit special (I haven't done it myself).

Nah...bit dull really. Although how can one put a price on being within the ambiance of Noel's beneficence?

However on my visit I did purchase a print of foxgloves from a charity stall that is so stunning it takes pride of place among my Thomas Eakins and Atkinson Grimshaws (prints).

Now that made the drive from Ilkley worth while - and of course it reminds me of Noel every morning as I sip my espresso!

So £2? Pah: the price of fond memory is far above rubies.
