Poacher turned game-keeper
By the way anybody else noticed that there is a new record for the MUNRO`s (by a large margin).
Good to see there are still achievers out there inspiring others.
Sorry I digress as you were.![]()

Oracle was a knowledgeable person.
Would welcome him back today.
Pity the snowflakes and mods drove him away
Yes it has been an absolutely stunning year for long-distance achievements, and can surely be attributed to lack of racing opportunities.
It's rather sad that it's been largely overshadowed by world events... Although had Corona not happened, I doubt that some of these attempts would have actually happened!
Whilst I understand that record attempts the likes of which we've seen this year, will have been a long time in planning... It's surely too much of a coincidence that the sheer quantity of long distance escapades have came at a time when racing has effectively been suspended...
I've heard more than one interview with various record breakers this summer which seemed to indicate that their attempts came together during first half of this year (seemingly in response to the unique circumstances of this year).
I am totally happy to be corrected if I'm wrong... It's just my view that no races perhaps concentrated the minds of more people than usual with regard to the long stuff...
I'm beginning to wonder if Oracle hadn't already signed up under another name some time ago, given that he (or she) seems to have quite a cheerleader on here - sounds a bit too much like blowing his/her own trumpet to me. Is it possible that Oracle and Stagger are one and the same person?
I think that is even funnier than your petrol pump joke.
Although even that pales behind Mick Brown in today's Daily Telegraph, reviewing the Van Morrison concert last evening, suggesting he (Van the Man) has written "more than 500 original compositions".
I assume he meant 5 and his finger slipped. What is a sub-editor for?
