I have two related children on Ritalin, for ADHD. One has been on around 4-5 years now and approaching teens.

I've asked what the out is.

You give a child a diet high in carbs, don't create an environment where they can burn them off, but stick them in front of a TV or tablet for hours on end, head off to the GP and they end up on drugs for years and the only direction of travel seems to be increased dosage.

A child who was a wiry and yes a lively 7 year old, is now an obese 12 year old.

I can't help but question the logic and morality of the way our system is dealing with such issues.
