I once owned a Citroen XM which I adored. I loved it even more than the Cosworth Scorpio I once drove. Since I drove to/from London every week for six years it was a gorgeous car for cruising on the M1 at (very) high speed in the days when you could. The suspension that allowed it to drive on only three wheels, the pressure actuated brake (with virtually no travel), the single spoke steering wheel, indicators that were deliberately not self-cancelling...I drove 83,000 miles in 2 1/2 years. My favourite car.
But it was a manual and what I had completely forgotten was that the "hand" brake was left foot operated and either on or off with no graduation. It was positioned next to the clutch which I only now remember always made steep hill starts interesting for my left foot and some times quite exciting.
Odd thing memory.
