Ha! I'm making it in the world of fell running, going places simply by being an idiot. I must correct the caption though, it's the Coledale Horseshoe.

Luke Appleyard (Wharfedale)- quick on the dissent
Just called home for a brew and the postman was delivering The Fellrunner.
Perfect timimg
Visibility good except in Hill Fog
Mines arrived, lots of long distance again. The gadger on the front cover looks to have had a brush with some gorse.
Well I haven't been racing due to my hectic schedule of injury. Rolled ankle at Fairfield, posterior compartment syndrome following a layoff. If I hadn't missed the whole summer I would have probably had the opportunity to act like a fool.
I'm particularly upset at missing the special round hill race.
Most interesting to me was the memorial piece on Bill Teasdale, both of Mr Breeze's articles, and the change in format of the British Champs.
Of the long-distance articles, i did quite enjoy the one on the breaking of the 24hr record.
Managed to see my name slip in there (well down towards the bottom of the results on the inter-counties report).
Though I have mainly skimmed it so far, it looks like yet another excellent winter issue - but page 106 - how difficult is that to read? Please keep backgrounds plain, ideally white only.
If you only have time to read one article, make it "A tale from the Heart".
I noticed that there was an article about travelling to races by train, so I read that first; but it was written as if the writer thought it was a new idea . . .
In his lifetime he suffered from unreality, as do so many Englishmen.
Jorge Luis Borges
One of the best recent issues for me.
Enjoyed the higher number of race-related articles.... and the review/preview of the 23 & 24 English Champs by ba-ba (although i had heard his thoughts already on a podcast)
I'm thinking of submitting an article for the next issue, about the upcoming Jubilee Plunge race, what with it being a relatively unique race.... will ask the RO for permission next weekend.
