Our pair of swallows are looking less than impressed with the Welsh weather.
On my ride round the reservoir today a male crossbill got up in front of the bike, wondered what it was but checked at home. Not seen one here before.
My Swallow friend was still alone this morning, looking beautiful on the telegraph wire against a bright blue sky.

A quite magnificent fox (and they are usually scrawny affairs around here) obviously disturbed by dogs during a midday walk. Quite large with an impressive brush.
A small, semi-permanent pond has formed at a field corner on one of the paths that I use. As I was approaching this pond yesterday, two ducks took off; I didn't get a very good view, but the bright colours on one of them made me fairly sure that they were mandarin ducks.
Had two ducks outside my front door this morning. I assume a male and a female (one was brown, the other green/white/brown.
