13.3 miles, 3,148 feet, 4 hours 14 minutes: Rothay Bridge to Silver How and back, going out via the track around Loughrigg Tarn and across to Swinescar Pike and Lang How; returning via Loughrigg top. Lots of high fluffy clouds, some sunshine/blue sky. No wind nor rain. Terrain dry/damp with good grip apart from the occasional rock. Not many walkers on the fells. I came across the AAC Tuesday/Friday runners on Silver How - there were about 6 of them; I saw three other runners.

The section next to the wall on the Loughrigg Silver How route is distinctly unpleasant: bracken.
