You might need to put on some training modules for us Travs
WP you'll see i've added the thread so that it is visible from the front page, rather than in a sub-folder and difficult for everyone to see.

At present, i think the settings are so that only i can start new threads.... once everyone is in and used to it, i'll open it up so that everyone can start new threads, send invites to new members, etc.

Just want to keep a lid on it for a few days.... i'm on another discord with people who are well used to using apps such as this, and still have threads disappear/move/etc....

Incidentally, if you want to "tag" another member to get their attention, just use the @ button and it'll bring up all the forum members and you can select whoever you want.....

I'll also start a new thread in the off-topic section, where people can ask queries about using the Discord, settings, issues, etc.

(can't promise i'll be able to answer everything!!)

I'm a bit all over the place again, i need some time. I think my unconscious mind considered this forum a safehouse of sorts; so dispite having voluntarily gone missing for over a year sometimes, now that it's being forcefully taken away forever i seem to be losing my old safe space and going to pieces a bit. It's a bit tiresome, i'm getting nightmares and wake up once a night every night worrying about pretty much anything and everything, but always loss related. Rusting cars and my own death feature regularly. Thankyou for taking the time to set up this app group, i'll see you at a race some time and you can tell me about it.

MrB if you want any reassurance about the new discord.... its up and running... same people (in fact a couple of forumites who perhaps haven't been regulars recently are signed up).

Its bowling along nicely.... same threads, similar conversations.... very early days but yesterday was relatively busy compared to recent months on the forum (it could of course be the novelty value of a new toy!).... i think the nature of being able to fire off messages almost like a "live chat/whatsapp" makes people more inclined to fire off quick replies....

The ability to post photos/pics very easily is also being utilised.... (Noel appears to be particularly pleased about being able to post GIFs )

Is it on your phone or your laptop?

I put it on my phone, but think you can use it on a laptop. Give it a go - so far I'm very impressed. Thanks Travs.

I'm mostly on laptop and it's fine - it will take some getting used to but probably more functional once we are all in to it.

Infrequent poster, but often looking back for information, no idea what discord is but I'll pm my email as it sounds a great idea, thank you. I do hope the forum 'history' can be saved somewhere for reference too.
