    Re: Wasdale

Managed to complete this one to acheive one of my fellrunning ambitions - have avoided for many years because I thought it was probably too tough for me.
Enjoyed the experience, but my feet suffered on the rocky sections, particularly the descent of Pillar and Gable. Navigation generally went well apart from the last section of Scafell which is the only bit I knew well!! Relaxed and followed the crowd down the path to the left of the stream - realised quite early and ended up coming straight down the Ghyll and then climbing back up to the stile in the wall - not as bad as others obviously but was quite pxxsed off after a reasonable run - finished in 5.40 but took a few days to recover.
Will I be back next year?? Probably!

Presumably you mean the Wasdale Fell Race in July. Yes it's a good race. It is a serious challenge.

If on the other hand you mean the Wasdale Show Race in about ten day's time that is also a good race and another serious challenge.

It's a classic little race that pops up to the top of Kirk Fell and back.
