Agony she thought as she climbed out of bed, my legs are agony, David my legs dont feel very good.
David pulled back some of the covers and just mumbled something like well i bloody told you so and went back to sleep. She managed a shower and hobbled downstairs to be greeted by the lady who owned the B&B. Whats the matter jayne she enquired, err its my legs they are not functioning properly.
Dont worry thats normal , what, why how do you know jayne asked.
Look trust me i know said the landlady, I used to run the fell races years ago and ive been all through it, your legs will revert back to normal in a few days and they will get stronger the more times you venture on the fells.
A good couple of hours passed as the two chatted about running and mostly the land ladies experiences on the fells, turned out she was quite a good competitor when it was mostly men that ran the races.
What time did you do yesterday jayne. I ran just under half an hour she replied.
Well i was a tad quicker in my day but not much and seeing its your first race you have done well.
jayne beamed as she left the B&B , bloody David wasnt up yet and it was the last day of the holiday, just typical. He was becoming a bit of a couch potato and things would have to change, in fact she thought of the grumpy looking men at the race and how hard it must have been for the landlady to race with them on the fells in the early years. She would use this as motivation in the future.
Her legs had eased a bit as she walked through the town and the pain didnt seem so bad but she had decided David could fetch his own damm paper this morning, she stopped for a coffee and watched the world go by and thought to herself how content with life she was , no stress nothing.
