Do most "fell" clubs not operate this way?
Us happy chaps at DFR only pay minimal fees to cover costs, we do have a committee but they are mainly a group of like minded folk driving & planning for the club.
Much the same at Pennine. Fell only. Subs £7 and £10 for individuals and families respectively. Few costs - include club affiliation and some relay entry fees.

The problem i had was location...i remember looking at Pennine and a few others and being impressed but they werent easy to get to for me. The disparate and virtual, rag-tag assortment of individuals that are the Fell Ponies just suits me better....but then i am a bit odd
No lady vest yet. Think Mrs C was attempting her own piebald design. Would it be cheating if she used her broomstick at Pendle seeing as she can't stay on her feet?
Broomstick is ok, as long as when she sweeps past us all , she leaves those jelly babies from last year
