I still can't find any information on what the entry limit is...
There's nothing on the Three Peaks website.

I was wondering the same really. As it's a world mountain running champs race there must be a number of places held open for the international representatives from e.g. England, Scotland, Wales, Italy etc... There's a possibility then that Lloyd Taggart, for instance, will have a place because he's pre-entered, have a place because he finished in the top ten and have a place because he'll qualify for the English team... .
I'm sure Saz and the rest of the committee will have it sorted anyhow.

Also - as well as the top ten. I hope that people like Andy Hauser are on the reserve list, if there is one (28 Three Peaks Races and still clocking under 3:30 as a V50!)

750 places for the whole entry of which 100 were reserved for overseas competitors looks like English/British places have all gone as the entry is on 651 one of which is German. Well that sold out quick

653 now, with 1 German, 2 Swedes and 1 Irish. Is that it now, no more Brits (except last years top 10 men and women)?

That actually means there is only one place left for a British Entrant. Who will be the lucky one?

    Re: Three Peaks 2008

I only found out that the online entry system was open this morning, by which time it was too late.

As a regular 3 Peak entrant (every year since 95 except for foot and mouth and one injured year) I'm 100% p!ssed off about missing out on the 2008 race.

You may say it's my own fault for not glueing myself to the computer every day since the start of November, and I know that the process is the same for every potential entrant so it's fair in that sense, but in the good old days every finisher in the top 50 was guaranteed a place the following year.

I've been out for my 5 mile lunchtime run and come back just as mad as when I left the office. At the moment it's making me seriously question whether I'll enter again.

Well I made it in. I was so lucky - been checking the web site every day since Nov 1 but not for the last week as I've had flu. Just starting to feel better and happened to check last night and there were already about 500 entries!

I'd be interested in a recce at some point.

    Well let's see:

    - entries have been growing consistently since the 50th Anniv year

    - the event is made an English Champ counter...(Why?)

-the event is hyped because it is the 5th World Somethingorother

    - since the Ben online entry fiascos and Edale 2007...PC literate Forumites have got the feeding frenzy taste...

What's that? The Three Peaks is full already?

    Well I never!
