Given the interest and number of people who did not get in, do you think the organisers will check to see if people actually have done the qualifiers they say they have done? Not that I am suggesting anyone would ever falsify an entry form and risk themselves and other competitors so they could get a race, just a thought.

    Re: Three Peaks 2008

I have done the Three peaks twice now 2005 & 2006, last year I entered but unfortunately I could not run due to illness.

I cant remember for the life of me whether or not I gave my number away, the three peaks race is one of my favourites. It was the first big race I entered and trained up for, it was real step into the unknown for me. Thats why I personally like it

If for any reason I cannot make this race next year, I will definately be sending my number back or giving it away (through the right channels) well in advance of the race.

I did realise last year as time ran out for me with this race and I relaised that I would not be running. That it is not the be all and end all, there are some much better races out there.

If you have'nt got in, aim for another

    Edale
    Borrowdale
    Wasdale
    Darwen Gala Race

    There are lots out there.

I'm not trying to preach to people, I will be somewhere near the middle like a lot of people on this forum.

Hopefully Britain has sorted out enough good top 10 runners from each category to throw our best towards the rest of the world.

Thumbs down Re: Three Peaks 2008

i agree how can yo allow entries for 2008 race and calender not out for 2008

its a joke they should let the top 50 men and top 25 women from last years race enter then invite you jebbs and holmes type give them all say 3 weeks to enter then make it a free for all its no good like this same happened edale and ben nevis.

i don,t mean to offend anyone but i bet there are few entires who have never been near the place let alone intend to ever do it again leaving you die hards feeling bitter

PLEASE DO ONT ALLOW ONLINE ENTIES FOR FELL RACES ITS KILLING THE RACES

can you tell i not entered yet

It's not fell racing as I know it (in my limited experience).

But it's clearly doing wonders for numbers - as well as filling the coffers of race organisers. Fair enough, to a point I suppose, as there will be some costs that are incurred before the day of a race.

So, it looks like it's good news for organisers but doesn't necessarily suit the runners. Sources tell me that it's the norm in other disciplines e.g. triathlon so we're probably going to have to get used to it .

One consolation. Unlikely (unless an exception is made) to be "Mudged" on the day, as I gather she's away at the Everest Marathon. How a "World Champs" can lead to exclusion of such athletes is beyond me .

Aye, Angela is away at the Everest marathon.

And from the comments she made at the agm of the Scottish Hill Runners shes certainly not a fan of early entries be they online or not.

I think its important to note that if anyone who has entered and cannot do it through injury, illness or bad prep. Should return their number within good time for it to be passed onto someone else.

Is their a process for this??

    From the PPP site.

    Substitution
If you need to substitute your entry please go to the 'Update Your Entry' link and replace your details with those of your substitute (who must meet the all the qualification requirements). Your fee will not be refunded but your substitute does not have to pay again.

Be interesting to know if every entrant is a member of the FRA - they should be, in my opinion. If they're not, there are stacks of other fell races for them to cut their teeth on.

I agree. Championship races should be members only.
