I did London and the skyline last year and LOndon was far harder and left me more tired afterwards. The pounding from the roads ahen running for that long at pace is just so tough to bear - you do get some respite on the fells I think.

Was happy with my London time but Skyline was far more satisfying though and am really looking forward to this year's run.

I know it's a long shot, but if anyone is planning a weekday recce of the Skyline and is travelling down from the Lakes, I'd be keen. Happy to share petrol cost, planning etc.

Just a reminder that there is a recce/ie/y planned (ish) for Sunday 18th Feb for those of us that can't manage a midweek outing. With a bit of luck there will be someone who knows where they're going.

I'm thinking of going down on either the 24th of Feb or the 3rd of March. If you have a preference then let me know. If anyone else wants a lift from Kendal then please get in touch

Might make that. What time, where from and how far?

As I won't be able to get up a recce the route, are their any tips people can give me as I try to familiarise my self with the route on my map? I'm using the OS 1:25000 scale Peak District Explorer.

All help gratefully received - Raymond

    As David would say,

Just follow the crowd on the day.

From past experience save something for the second half. Although I reckon the second half if you have a lot left, does level out and is more runnable than the first half.

There is a litle bit of route choice on the last bit.

Its either a straight rocky/heathery descent then climb again. (It could be from grindslow knoll down and then upto ringing roger again , I cant remember the names sorry, Im sure someone will help me out)

Or it is the more runnable longer route around the top, then onto the last checkpoint at ringing roger

    Cheers
    Jamie

I would quite like to do the second half (for the first time having done the first half on numerous occasions). Would start from Edale car park and run up Harden Clough to Mam Nick to start with.
