Gloop-a-minute all the way round, I reckon.

I am just glad i am not manning a check point (unless it was an indoor one) imagine standing out for that long in the Pouring rain and wind, they are the hero`s in my book.

Talking of heroics you will see none from me on Saturday just a leisurely Squelch round at 11-12 minute mile pace with maybe a bit of a pick up in pace over the last 10 miles if i have it left in me.

Target time somewhere between 10 & 11 hours and feeling in reasonable shape

Will you be running all 50miles John or do you tend to have a walk up the hills

Also what is was the final finishing time last year, do people actually stay out for 16 hours?

    Jamie

You will cruise it, if all goes well you will be round in about 9 hours possibly 10 if you are suffering. You only need to average 5.5 mph which should be doable given that there isn't much climbing, just don't stop at the checkpoints, grab some food and water and keep going remember (6 mins each at 10 CP =1 hour). Definitely walk up anything steep, remember it's about finishing not winning, on the flat and down hill run at a slow pace, if you are having to breath hard you are going too fast and you are burning too much of your reserve. Just keep it comfortable

I'm sure you all will canter round.

    Good luck

There's very few hills in it really, well what a fell runner would class as a hill. We ran most of it last time. The main issue will be ploughed fields I reckon, could really slow you down. Take spare socks and change if you get too much soil and mud in your shoes as it can rub.

Good luck, I think the missus is getting a bit nervous, her first ultra for 3 or so years, but she's a better runner now so it will be interesting to see how she goes.
