Thumbs up Re: Calderdale Way Relay

Only draw back is I lost a red windproof fleece glove somewhere in the last two miles of leg 1, if it gets handed in can I have it back please[/QUOTE]

First time for me, really enjoyed leg 6 but lost my favourite balaclava which I bought in NYC. Its black with silver or white emblem on forehead. about half way stage I think?

Great day out though, really lucky with weather too.
Very well organised, shame I didnt have time to try the pie&peas, very tempting.

Congratulations to Horwich, a cracking race between the two top teams ended with Horwich just pipping Pudsey by about 10 seconds! Salford 3rd, Bingley 4th, Dark Peak 5th. Bingley won the womens by a fair bit, Dark Peak won the Vets, Rossendale won the mixed.
Conditions remained ok for the day, a little bit bleak at changeover of 4/5, but fantastic race again. Thanks to the marshals, especially those we passed at Stoodley Pike, must have been cold stood up there! Roll on 2008...

Well done Horwich, is this result proof of the fact that if you want to beat the likes of P & B and Bingley, you've got to beat them at their own game, and that involves knowing the route off by heart and not making any errors?

How did the Dale go on anyone?

You had a baton? on leg 4? At Baildon we've grown up to believe that you only get a baton on leg 1.......

Seriously, congratulations to everyone involved - organisers, winners, and also-rans. Another very enjoyable CWR.

Probably a bit down on last year Danbert, but we won't know until the results come out in a few days. It was packed at the end.

Sounds like first two legs were strong, so was third but ~3 min down on last year as the young whippets were full of a cold (and it was XC yesterday).

On leg 4 I managed to fall in the same place as RR. Widdy game me 10 points for artistic content. We also did some unplanned wall and barbed wire fence climbing. Time was slower than I hoped for but we forgot to start our watches at the beginning.

Haven't heard from Leg 5 but it must have been heavy going with all that mud at the best of times.

Leg 6 - Mr Chairman was 6 min faster than last year, although the leg was a bit shorter.

I ran for Yorkshire Long Distance Walkers Association, what a nice bunch of folk. We were hoping to do leg 6 in 1:40 and managed about 1:30ish so well chuffed.
We were in the mass start at 14:00hrs, great atmosphere.

Thanks to whoever was involved in sorting out the route through the field down to Shibden Brook on leg 5, avoiding the treacherous flags on the path. Thoroughly enjoyed the race really well organised.

    What is your favourite?
Get real Brett, 4 is a true fell runners leg, with a quick start, tough descent and two awsome climbs when your just not ready for them.

Well done to the winners and all who took part.

A big thanks to Hx Harriers for an excellent run event

Well done to Rossendale who were first mixed team. We also got the 3rd fastest time in the last 10 years (all that were on the trophy!).
