The main thing was that we maintained bragging and boasting rights in the Borough.

We beat Middleton by 34 seconds so as far as i'm concerned the team are conquering, corageous, brave, valiant, intrepid and heroic champions to a man.

Radcliffe must be put to the sword next year though.

As someone relatively new to the world of Fell Racing - can someone tell me if the 1st claim rules don't apply here?
There does seem to be a few notable "loan deals" in the results!

Booby! we were nowhere near the end!!!

It's all about the day and the craiq!!

That and the evening do - which was fantastic!!

Halifax might be able to organise the Relay but K & C can organise the best evening out!!

hey glad you got it ok, you never know with snailmail eh?
Ah, kit can be replaced at the end of the day, I guess I should be glad I got round without any mishaps.
A deerstalker eh... theres gotta be a joke in that one somewhere??
Very busy at the rugby club, it will be trampled into the ground by now.

    Re: Calderdale Way Relay

We had a member who joined us for the fells only. He doesn't know it yet, but for Christmas I am getting him the full club kit!!!! Red is his colour, even though he tried to soak the vest in mud before he even got it on. I will give it six months before he crosses the line totally.

Several clubs, like the winning team, seemed to have a few incomers on the team. Leg 1- Belgrave and Sale comes to mind but I do believe Rick joined Horwich fully and Paul runs for them second claim. Not many fells down at Belgrave!!! Greeny on leg 4 runs for Sale first claim, but I wouldn't say they did anything wrong. Lets face it, can't ever see Sale Harriers getting a good 12 out for the relay.

Well done to Horwich on winning this event. Cracking team effort and they seem to have good support out and about. Is Norman Matthews going to display his photos anywhere? (Is Norman a member of this forum?)
