    Re: Xmas on the fells

I'd really like to do the early start. I'd been looking forward to the chance of doing two legs back to back at Bob pace, and I've not got round to doing leg 2 before.

But, I'll go with the consensus, I'd rather run leg (either with or without the extra bit on the end) on Sunday at a civilised time with a social group than be a miserable sod and go off early to get two in on my own! Since I've already booked accommodation for the night before, (on the basis of an early start...) I guess I could go up earlier on the Saturday and do leg 2 then - weather permitting.

Steve, a few have booked night before me included, but that means that a few are setting off as early as 3 am to be there for a 7.30 start, i can not be comfortable with that, these are friends and i could never forgive myself if something went wrong for us having an early set off! The hills are there forever, and look on the bright side it means we get a lay in bed, a full breakfast, and best of all we can have a few pints the night before
So how about we do leg 2 then i am good with that much better leg to do than 1 we can still meet at Moot Hall and drive to leg 2 or those who want can run on the railway xx

    Re: Xmas on the fells

look if it causes a problem just stick to the plan what we had doing two legs.
im picking fleeter up anyway and i know andy, he is like me we will just go with the flow , it will be a 3.00am start if we do the two legs but i can always drop out after leg 1 if im tired, its not a problem.
To be honest i really want to get back to the pub and a dance to cheer myself up as im a bit depressed at the minute and this is the only thing im looking forward to at xmas , id rather just drop out after leg 1 and meet everyone later if others want to def do 2 legs. but like i say me and andy will do whatever.
andy may want to do 2 but im just gonna do one i think and then go back to the hotel and wait until the night comes
    cheers guys
just dont cut it short on my account im quite happy to come and collect a car full from the end of leg 2.

Well I'm easy either way as long as I get a run. If we meet 9ish and do Leg1+some or Leg2, that's fine....if you're meeting 7.30ish, then I'll make my way to Threlkeld and pick up Leg 2 there with you.

    Amex and all,

My plans to join the festive fun have fallen apart at the seams.

Work i'm doing on my house has left me with no money in my wallet and a no miles in my legs. On top of that, my evil boss has decided that working on 24th December is a good idea!

I shall have to postpone my first Lakeland run / Bob G pilgrimage until next year.

Hope you all have safe journies to and fro and that the running and dancing lives up to expectations.

    All the best,

    JimmyBoy

yeah i'm with daz,do whatever suits people,i just want a nice run in the hills that i'm going to enjoy and then have a few beers and something to eat afterwards,i would much rather do 1 leg seeing as i havent done much running all year, but i'm sure i could manage 2 if that's the plan

    Re: Xmas on the fells

I didn't mean to cause any problems! I'll go with the flow, it's meant to be a fun social gathering and the run is only one part of that, it's not about me using it for my own BG aims, I can do a long run anytime

Setting off from home at 3am, running all day, then drinking/dancing until the next 3am might not be so much fun

So, a civilised start time and do one leg on Sunday? Then that leaves the choice of which leg, 1 with the meeting up at the Moot Hall and scaring the locals (if any are up on a Sunday morning), or driving/running to Threlkeld for leg 2 like Amex suggested instead?

As I said I'll fit in with the majority, I'll just confuse things in the meantime!

Why dont we do leg 3 and go out in Wasdale

Its only 120 quid for a room at the Wasdale head. Whats the night club called over that way?

    Sorry I'll just go away.
