All you guys seem to be splashing around in the last few days - makes me envious.

Running is difficult over here as the roads are very very icy and off road is impossible unless you can run through snow thats 2 foot deep. Also calf muscle is giving me grief and much as its against my nature I really should rest it

    Re: Today's Training

A five miler this morning in the hills above Settle...... followed by a 3.5 miler this afternoon (dragged out by one of my daughters) in the same neck of the woods

A great line from some walkers I encountered this morning:

    "Nice day for it"

Meaning of course "what an absolutely crap day for it"

Truth was though it was a fcuking excellent day - waterlogged fields, supremely muddy trails, misty rain, clag on the tops and not at all cold.

    So I told him so!

Four hours Honister to Ennerdale last night, followed moses trod in a right pea souper to Beckhead then followed the Ennerdale Horseshoe the rest of the way.
Cleared going up Kirkfell made it to Pillar from there in 43mins, going up Haycock had a full moon shining down so turned off the torch but it was back into the soup on the other side and that was it untill dropping off Crag fell, very strange run, visibility went from not knowing I'd found moses trod till my foot was on it to looking across to the Scafells in the moonlight

I'm not entirely sure where I'd go with a head torch to be honest!

A brisk 5 miles up Hameldon hill in fairly adverse weather conditions. Hope it's a little better for the bike ride tomorrow.
