    Thanks MM-that was great-a fabulous icy blast!! And we held Holmesy and Ferguson off right until that final climb up "top of stair"
    We'll take them next time for sure.....

    Yeah I bet they hadn't come as far as us anyway... they hadn't even broken out into a sweat .

    Whats the terrain like for this race? On nice easy tracks/paths? Or off piste stuff?

    Mostly tracks/decent paths.Some muddy bits just before golf course at Tod and on way down from Stoodly Pike.
    Not decided yet.Done it 3 times.

    Yes this is probably as good as the going gets for a 32 mile fell race with just a few short boggy sections - notably after the descent of Stoodley Pike - otherwise its good tracks and paths all the way. Be warned that the second half has some long uphill sections so don't overdo the first half!

    The route notes look worryingly sparse for a 32 mile run so most of it had better be on decent paths
