EmmLast year I was running next to some bloke with NO bad weather gear in a pair of bog standard road trainers with out the knowledge of how to use a compass nor on his admission any inclination to use it!!
Its a shame there was no shops on route you could have fooled him like you did with Chirs and me @ Kettlewell
ha ha ha !! well yes there is that! BUT, you can rest assured I must have learnt something!! I think I was following my fell running instincts and taking the most direct route although not necessarily the quickest......sometimes you men are too speedy for your own good!
well as Big Compass mentions I'm pretty good at going off the beaten track a bit!! I recce'd Borrowdale that much last year I was almost living up Great Gable!
There are plenty of places to stock up on water on route and there are always plenty of jelly babies on offer around Blea Tarn and Honister!
I'm sure you'll manage the cut off ML....think on a recce of the full route I was being paced round and made it with time to spare so there's certainly hope for everyone! Enjoy.
See the light in the night
Has anyone a list of the checkpoints or a map please?

i think expect the worst the weather can throw at you on a long lakes race then prepare for it. if you carry too much gear so be it, im not going to be up with simon booth or lloyd taggart so whats the worry. get round in canny style and finish as well as i can but be prepared for sh**e weather. my mate got hypothermia on the great lakes run going over similar ground ( midsummers day)
