Thought you might say that. Well of course apart from this one what other websites would you look up, and not a club one, a fitness one.
Anyone own a set of body fat/weight scales?
I want to get a set but I hear some of them are pretty crap and innacurate. Anyone suggest anything?
I figured if I got some to stand on each day it'd force me to do something about being "warm and slightly tubby" in winter.
Salter's do some good scales.
We got some a while ago, weight & body fat% seem accurate, they seem spot on when comparing to the readings the fancy setup at the gym just gave me during my fitness 'test'.
Tanita seem very reliable and not that expensive. Available from Argos amongst other places.
Tanita are good
Sainsburys have 2 scales/body fat measures at half price-£20 at the moment. One a Rosemary Conely and the other made by Taylor. Can't say if they are any good.
I purchased, on the advice of DanAzz, who replied first, some Salter scales. Thanks.
They are £40 in Argos, but I got some new off t'internet for £24 inc. P+P - barjain I say. They put me 4lbs heavier than the electronic ones I already have, BUT they reckon my body fat is 9% (yet I can grab handfuls of the stuff - must be wrong!)
Now for the next question - I want to read up more about the meanings, understandings etc of body fat, muscle mass, basal metabolic rate etc. I will have a scan myself of t'internet, but CAN ANYONE RECOMMEND A GOOD WEBSITE FOR INFO?
Many thanks.
