Left Wasdale at 2.13pm. About an hour ahead of schedule. Feeling tired now but he looks as if he will make it. Perfect conditions!

gary finished in 22:45.
was running really well right to robinson. walked the road at the end.
it was a privilege to be out on a day like that. if you were ordering weather and conditions for a BG that would it - bone dry ground, not too hot, sunny and warm.
Hobbit botherer and I accompanied Gary from Dunmail and I have lots of video and stills. will edit and post them up. looked like you were pounding up the slopes Bill.
Well done, Gary. Brilliant effort! A memorable day. An inspiration as to what can be achieved.
A real inspiration to us all at our screens!!
WELL DONE..........feel free to post some details of the adventure!
Had a really good day on the hill, views where spectacular and the crack was good. So good that two of my pacers went the whole way from Dunmail to the finish!!!! Couldn't have had a better group of pacers or road support. Sunrise on Great Dodd and sunset on Robinson, with sunshine, wonderful views.
Lots of runners out who all gave much appreciated words of encouragement.
After three unsucceshul attempts in previous years due to the heat, I was determined to do it this time and decided on an early attempt before tempetures got too warm. I had done a lot of long runs this winter in the fells to both gain fitness and confidence. Was ahead od schedule from Clough Head and it was great feeling to have 10 hours to get from Wasdale to the finish and to be drinking tea in the evening sun at Honister with 5 hours to get to the Moot Hall. Going well till the top of Robinson and then my quads just went, slow painful descent, followed by a gentle walk along the road with ny 4 pacers and 11 year old daughter.
A memorable day and I hope that all those who are trying their BG later in the year are succesfull.
PS. Enjoyed FSS blog last year and Swiss Toni's this year. Great to follow people's training and their highs and lows.
Well Done ! :d :d :d :d
why haven't my smilies worked :-(

You were looking good when I seen you and what a day you had perfect if a bit warmer than you had in mind when you decided on going in April
