You weren't wrong about the mud or the bogs - and the heavy rain you had arranged helped too - good fun anyway! Also, thanks for pronouncing Liga's name correctly at the prizegiving (third lady), some folk struggle, your Latvian is very good.
    Grok on!

I wondered... Is Latvian related to Hungarian? (Dotto isn't my real name.) That might've helped!
Well done Liga, on a day like yesterday you deserved that prize!

It's that time. You can register on the day. 1.30 kick off.

Brief break from lurking to say a really good tough workout in the hot sun today at this race, despite the warm weather I still managed to lose a shoe (and subsequently a couple of places!) thanks to that sneaky bog! Nice setting for the wife and young uns to pass the time whilst I was slogging around too. Well done to the organisers for putting on a great family friendly race.

I too competed in yesterday's Spofforth Gala 10k, it was a tremendous race. I'm still waiting for the results (anyone know how long they take to appear?) but seem to recall I finished around 25-30th position.

As this was my first trail race I found the first 6k of uphill particularly challenging, but I kept a little on the tank for an epic sprint finish (which probably means I should have pushed harder elsewhere on the route).

Thoroughly enjoyable and well organised day, however I'm glad I avoided the hornet invasion! Looking forward to the Wetherby 10k now where hopefully a PB is within my grasp.

I heard about the "hornet" invasion (was it really hornets?? Pretty nasty), hope nobody was too badly stung.

Am hearing through the grapevine that Barry McGuire from Harrogate Harriers won the race, can anyone confirm?
