Hi again,
Another week gone by,
today = 69 press-ups, squats and sit-ups
Press-ups are really hurting now, got doubts about making it to the 100 mark!!
al
SS, I take it the challenge is to crack out the 100 without pause?
The weeks are flying by,
today=76 press-ups, squats and sit-ups
61 consecutive days now, total of 2821 press-ups
arm/shoulder muscles have doubled in size, feel like the incredible hulk!
was going to say like Charles Atlas, but bet most of you have never heard of him
only 24 days to go
al
Good effort Al,
I managed to injure my right elbow doing this and have never been the same again.
Yours faithfully
Charles Atlas
So today it's 83 press-ups, sit-ups and squats.
Still not missed any days, =560 of each this week.
Only 17 days to go!!
al
I need to take up the challenege for the umpteenth time just to burn off some excitement energy. I am bouncing off the walls at the moment. If I bounce off the floor, with my arms, and legs stretched out behind me, then that's a press up done!
Taking the challenge up again as of Monday as well, roped a couple of other troopers in on it, so should be easier to stick to it! Competition :)
and so another week drifts by.......
today = 90 press-ups, sit-ups and squats, all ok except right shoulder is sore,
still, only 10 days to go, will probably video the final day, so when I get old, say 60, I can look back at my fit years
oops thats only next year!!
al
and another
today = 97 press-ups, sit-ups and squats
only 3 more days to go
Monday is the 100 day, not sure yet what happens on Tueday!!
al
Post the video on here when you're done! Good luck ;)
Ok, so today was the 100 day challenge,
all completed, no video tho, did the press-ups at work 0700 this morning, took the camera, set it up, started the video, did the 100, went to the camera and the battery was flat!!
Will do a repeat on Wednesday. Tomorrow will be 50 of each, then 101 on Weds, 50 Thursday, 102 Friday etc
Was good to get there today after 85 consecutive days, and 4945 press-ups.
al
Legend! Look fwd to the vid. Reckon my 100 will come at the weekend or just after.
110.
:d
Well in Softie, which way is the beach?:D I might have another go at beating my squat record some time, i think i'm going to be out of running for a bit after restuffing my ankle on saturday.
 You are just showing off now softie !
:o Sorry! My aim though is to maintain this level whilst I continue with my 50 pull ups: I'd love to be able to do both at the same time... well, not the same time, but...oh, you know what I mean!
I reckon I'm about halfway to the 50 (gonna do a max test later this week after tomorrow's session - I brought my Door Gym to my hotel: :o again!)
Wonder if you kept the programme up if you'd get to 200...?
Respect SS, find it hard to push up/pull up/sit up myself out of bed these days:rolleyes:
Well done mate:wink:
I would bump my head like in that advert (is it a Muller pleasure/pain one?) :D
Blimey, this long since anyone's done this? I lost a few over the winter (down to 85) so picked this up again a couple of weeks ago. Just got to Week 6 Day 3 Level 3 (which, since I last did it they've increased from 264 to 274, cheeky blighters).
Reckon a 100 will be done again by the end of the week.
Just wondering, as summer's round the corner, and thoughts turn perhaps to their beach bodies (er, or not), anyone else going to restart these...?
im doing this 100 pushups thing they do an app for it. my mate whos amazing at climbing has a regime of doing 10 push ups 10 pullups followed by 10 situps constantly for 40 mins and hes the leanest person i have ever seen so hoping something like this may help me tone up a bit. he intends to join the 100 club which 100 pushups followed immediately 100 pullups.
That would be immense. Not getting the time to get back into the pull ups recently, but hopefully going to start tomorrow. I maxed out at 15 (and a half:o) last week. My aim's for 50.
Good regime that: 10 presses/10 pulls/10 crunches. Might give a go...but doubt I could maintain for 40mins! Any rest in there between each round, or is completely without rest?
Yeh I should try this again. Never made 100 but made it to week 5 column 3 which I was very pleased with, I just couldn't make it past that though. Might have to start back at week one :o
hes mad he does it without rest. he climbs to a very high standard probably one of the best amateurs in the country. he can run fast too, one of those annoying people whos good at everything but fair play he puts the effort in and isn't arrogant which makes a change. im goona do a bit of a regime tonight, legs are still a bit stiff from the sunday half still so will just do upper half and core.
I chaps. I regularly do 5 sets of 100 press ups. It's just a matter of practise. I'm rubbish at pull ups though.
For some strange reason I did 15 push ups last night......it was hard!!!!!
Now gonna try and build up regularly.
For some strange reason I did 15 push ups last night......it was hard!!!!!
Wimp!!
Tried final max test today, failed miserably. Really tired and gave up at 66 - was doing that in my final set on Monday! Dunno what was wrong. Gonna leave until fresh at the weekend.
66 is good SS
I just completed week 1 again. Just. :o
The real challenge is to have a balanced musculature. I do hope all these 100 pushup contestants are also doing pullups, rows and or lat pulldowns. Otherwise, they will be developing their "mirror muscles" in front at the expense of the if anything more important ones at the back. This leads to bad posture, stooping and becoming a hunchback. I am not exaggerating - exactly this happened to a friend of mine whose ongoing challenge in the gym was to "bench 100". He once had a superb physique, now he looks a freak, with his chin almost touching his chest when he is stood upright.
Always a balance: I do this in conjunction with my own 50 pull up challenge. I tend to alternate work on 'push' muscles with work on the 'pull' muscles. As to the core, I work it all as much as I can: lower back, abs, obliques, deeper core muscles, etc. Combination of typical ab and lower back exercises with Plates moves.
Uuurgh! I can't believe how I have literally fallen back to square one with this! :sneaky: Since I got up to week 5 a couple of years ago(?) I have sparodically done a few press ups here and there, but I had to start right back at the beginning..
I just started week 2 this morning though - it was tough, but I will get there
PS when I say I will get there I don't think I will ever manage the 100, but if I can manage a week 4 - 5 standard then I is happy :)
