Are they your feet hes on your avatar ?. And what are you standing on if it is ?.
Have you read born to run all about the mexican indians who are great runners and a ultra trail race and the also the fact that we are supposed to run barefoot. Supposedly statistics show more injuries in the modern running shoe era. I have read it and it's fab.
am feeling very tired
but also slightly wired
think I ate too much tonight
would like to go to bed
but am sitting here instead
I know it really isn't right
my duvet is now beckoning
it is the time of reckoning
I see the evening's end is in sight
you must read it hes especially as you are already converted. you will never buy an over elaborate shoe again.
I will look out for it Tri. I am beat, going to have to go to bed. Goodnight Tri and Merry, see you soon.
Merry me and thee kid. Do you own a tent ?. Thinking about getting one for emergencies. You know super light and small.
Good night everyone.
Every day is a fresh beginning,
Listen my soul to the glad refrain.
And, spite of old sorrows
And older sinning,
Troubles forecasted
And possible pain,
Take heart with the day and begin again

A lovely way to start the day that DT.....
Here is another Yeats...
Brown Penny
I whispered, 'I am too young,'
And then, 'I am old enough';
Wherefore I threw a penny
To find out if I might love.
'Go and love, go and love, young man,
If the lady be young and fair.'
Ah, penny, brown penny, brown penny,
I am looped in the loops of her hair.
O love is the crooked thing,
There is nobody wise enough
To find out all that is in it,
For he would be thinking of love
Till the stars had run away
And the shadows eaten the moon.
Ah, penny, brown penny, brown penny,
One cannot begin it too soon.

I've actually always hoped to meet one of these wild cats out on a run. But if and when I do nobody will ever believe me now!
I frightened the life out of myself the other week as a pair of massive cat's eyes suddenly stared at me from my head torch beam! I thought I was a gonner! But it was just a little moggy up very very close on a wall just beside me!
Glad you had a good day.
That story made me chuckle! I was running with my headtorch the other evening, in fact I think it was the evening of my poem, and I lit up a field of sheep so that all you could see were hundreds of pairs of glowing orbs. It was really wierd. Quite unnerving...not as much as your moggy though.:)
Sheep
From where I stand the sheep stand still
As stones against the stony hill.
The stones are gray
And so are they.
And both are weatherworn and round,
Leading the eye back to the ground.
Two mingled flocks -
The sheep, the rocks.
And still no sheep stirs from its place
Or lifts its Babylonian face.

For all the year's I've been running I've never been attacked by a dog, but I have been legged up and mugged by a sheep though. They got spooked by my torch, started running and one suddenly swerved and ran straight into me. I ended up flat out, face in the mud, then promptly got trampled by another one. They have pointy feet I can tell you!
What was that Michael Nyman track? "Chasing sheep is best left to shepherds". Couldn't agree more. :)
Your runs sound very eventful! I am not sure whether to laugh or feel upset for you by the sheep attack...you are too good at painting the picture.
I got chased by a field of cows once and I ran out of puff so just stopped and waited to get trampled to death but they all stopped too and we stared at each other before I turned and walked away. Very off putting!
My runs are like my life in general. Mostly quiet then permeated by exciting times!
I thought I was being chased by a horse once, but I eventually turned round and it had stopped miles back. My rucksack straps were flapping making the noise of thundering hooves.
...must get this blooming prep finished and then I won't be stressed tomorrow and can go for a run before my classes:
I've got to run
working tonight because
I've got to run
hope to see you later.
Excellent...a man after my own heart...I once cycled at breakneck speed through a wood on the way home from a friend's house because I thought someone was chasing me and it turned out to be my backpack straps flapping and occasionally hitting my helmet. It was a very dark wood:o

Running faster places no distance
between the pursuer and the pursued.
The threat is real
the danger less so.
The secret is in knowing
when to run
and when to stop,
look, and listen again.
It remains a secret.
I like it. :)
