Nice to meet you, Rodders, and thanks for the advice re: the Bog Monster, one of the chaps I found myself running with went up to his waist, by the time I'd got around the dry bits to help him he'd managed to drag himself out. I was very vigilant after that!Quote:

51 runners did the race won by Mick Stenton in a little over 2 hours (2.06.??) i think, with the last runner and sweep coming in in 4.10 ish.
very hot out there but stunning views we told the frech couple that October in the peak is always like this......

It was completely my fault as I glanced at the FRA site and saw 10am. I totally forgot that me and Madeleine had set off with the walkers last year at 8.
Sorry, promise we won't do it again. Big thanks to the MRT for looking after us so well, in fact we got quite settled at Fiddlers Green, they were trying to tempt us with sausage rolls and soup!
top day out yesterday, many thanks to WMRT for such a great event, i'll definately be back...
i didnt have the best of runs, was bang on time by fiddlers green then blew up running along the dam road.....and then both calfs cramped up running down the road in hades edge....got back in 3.35 which was probably 15mins or so slower than expected...
well done rachFR, youll be pleased to know Sheila's shoes have survived the washing machine and are looking as good as new...
Great day. Thanks to all the organisers. Seemed to be more bits of tape than usual - thanks to who did that and cleared them all up after. Food and drink was great after. Missed buying a crate of rescue ale had my dosh ready!

I finished in about 2.50 took a wrong turn in the last fields and ended up on the road heading away from the barn so had to retrace my steps, reckon i would have got in 10 minuntes earlier - got to the barn and saw guys who i had been ahead of since cut gate tucking into the spread,(which was a great feed , thanks !:) and felt a bit gutted!
I was going ok until the tarmac over Dunford Bridge which really got me , recovered a bit and fell in with three guys for the bit through the woods and along snittle lane, but then the last mile just lost it, got lost and felt sick! Veg lasagne sorted me out tho :)

As there is no official record of the long run, I am going to begin the list by declaring myself first with 4:44:w00t:. Can anyone beat that?
I think I was 5th-in at 4:08 (maybe 4:09, as I came in a few moments after 3rd and 4th as I lost it on the final hill).
because it is classed as walk results aren't given for the long, you also have the problem of various start times, Eg Mrs Stagger set off about 90 minutes after the first walkers went so trying to sort that out is a nigthmare, the race is timed by PB, Spoke to KingSnail last night and told him to get the results sorted. :)Quote:
