A nice first run of 2009. 5km road run this morning in quite frosty conditions along the country lanes of Cronton.
Cheers Alphin. I 'll see what the outcome of the x ray is. This guy is encouraging and has done a lot of fell running himself. He doesn't want me to stop fell running, neither do I! The question for me is whether I can descend on tough races competitively, I'm sure there are races I can still do without too much handicap. The physio doesn't want me to switch to loads of tarmac as that'll do me no good.
But cheers, I'll PM you if I think a second opinion is needed. Happy New Year :)
7 miles or so up Hameldon and around and about. Tried my new Mizuno Wave Ascend 3's for the 1st time. Had to stop 1/2 way to give them a complete lace up as the forefoot was rolling about a bit. Much better when tightened up and great traction over a variety of terrain. Roll on some long runs - might try the new road shoes tommoz!
4 mile over hobson moor today nice & easy after yesterdays fun & frolics at haworth :D
7 miles in total - Giants Tooth race + warm up then deflagging with Swoop as a warm-down!!

4 steady miles up over Turton Moor-Ovenden on saturday...and no im not ducking this one!:D
Out walking for an hour and a bit over the moors to recover the abandoned car from last nights ill planned session. That cleared my head a bit and I managed about 3 miles off road with my carefully taped up ankle, almost walked bits of it, think I should sleep more and drink less.:)
As I was less than happy with my performance in the Wymondham 10k this morning I decided to do the alternative session for those of our training group not racing as well this afternoon, although with shorter warm up and down and due to lack of light not on grass as advised.
10 minutes warm up
5 minutes (2 minutes jog recovery)
5 x 60 seconds (20 seconds jog recovery - 2 minutes jog after 5th effort)
4 minutes (2 minutes jog recovery)
4 x 60 seconds (20 seconds jog recovery - 2 minutes jog after 4th effort)
3 minutes (2 minutes jog recovery)
3 x 60 seconds (20 seconds jog recovery)
5 minutes warm down
10 miles on a rather frozen pendle...
5 miles road tonight..
Every day for a year !! I think about 8 weeks is as long a streak as I've put together.
Brisk un straight up Crookstone Knoll, wee loop about on top to look at the ravens, then death defying descent straight back down. Frozen as the arctic up Kinder, fantastic running conditions! 2.1miles to be exact! with 1000' of climb
Beats pounding round the roads any day :D
Layby on Holmfirth Rd, Old PW to Black Shaw Res, hack over top of Diggle firing range towards Running Hill Pits and Cotton Famine Rd back to layby, 1:23:36hr medium paced, great run with great mates :)
5 mile on the trails of Pex Hill this morning then disaster as I came off one of the trails on to the road I went straight over on my ankle. That was the end of today's run and I won't be doing any for the next few days at least? Got a bloody sore ankle now that I can't put any weight on.
At least I got 5 miles in.
Yet another little excursion to the Dales. 14 or so miles from Horton, up round, along and back - sort of. Quite a few runners out today :)
Managed to do 60-65 minutes steady in 58-48, is that good or bad ? ;)
35 mins from home - more towpath than usual as fancied a 'flatter one':(
5.5 miles steady on road

cut gate tomorrow :D (sustained uphill, and then back again)
Bike sunday
87 mins (c9.25 miles) around Danefield & Chevin including doing the steps for first time in about half a dozen visits there.
Only 3 weeks after the wettest I'd known it up there today was almost all bone-dry thanks to all the frost.
45:42mins Plantation area lower Chew...Nice out, very icy underfoot...
Hadfield, Longdendale Trail, round all four resers and back through Padfield. warm up, 5 x 5mins hard off 2 mins jog recovery, 8 x 15 sec hill sprints (Man walking dog thinks I am mad with the look of him. Either that or he fancied me!) Warm down.

Hour or so steady on Ilkley Moor with K&C friends earlier. Lovely morning to be out and a nice way to round off a good weekend :)
Ran from Himley Hall over Wolverhampton way. 6 miles at 6-42 miling.... Then my legs imploded so it was immediately followed by 6 miles at 7-30 miling....
That'll teach me for trying to play with the fast boys!! :D
a slow 4 mile road run , first run after the boundary and still chesty with a cold.
8 miles round woodbank park today ;)

Good run, rather dangerously icy in patches but that just adds to the fun.
