2 Hours of Hill Reps this morning, manflu is on the retreat, felt good despite coughing up the worlds supply of phlegm:eek:
Better out than in;)
just on way back from ladybower reservoir, went out with mother for 2 hours nice and muddy and lovely hills.did around 8 miles.a good day out
just about managed to keep emmi and mrs stagger in sight on a recce from marsden to crowden and back. they kindly did a lot of waiting and provided extra water and encouragement. that's the longest run i've been on in a while - worth leaving the house at ten to 7 for.....i think.
no, not any recce'ers! there were a few runners at soldiers lump, but they weren't going any further - think they were on a club run but i don't know what club.
About 8 miles from home up to Ringinglow then to Hathersage road, up Houndkirk hill etc. Tried to overtake a landrover on Houndkirk road as last week but this one pulled over and stopped to let me pass which is not really playing the game.
14 miles from Edale up past Ringing Roger to the top of Golden Clough, directly across the plateau to the path on the Northern edge, turned left and followed the path along the edge of the plateau past Blackden Brook to the top of Gateside Clough.
Down Gateside then back up Fairbrook, cutting across the heather to the track to Fairbrook Naze. Up the nose and along the path at the top of Ashop Edge to the far NW corner of the plateau. Back along the Pennine way, past the downfall to Kinder Low. East to Noe Stool past the pagoda and Woolpacks to summit of Grindslow Knoll, then down to Grindsbrook Booth and back to Edale.
A few groups recce'ing Tanky's and loads of runners out today, more than I've ever seen outside of a race.
Great weather, great running, great day out.:)
2% bit lame as you don't use 100% effort on the treadmill.. yeah i know that CL will come along and correct me..
i always found running at 4-5% at 14km was a good effort.. length of run up to you..
good effort though..
just keep up the abs work :) not sure if you do a Pilates class but it would do you good :D
26 and a bit miles. Nice and slow 4h.45 over hilly mixed terrain.
7.2 mile in the mud on Pex Hill this afternoon.
10.7 miles from Crowden over Bleaklow to the turn off the Pennine Way to the Snake Road on Tanky's route, then back to Crowden. A bit damp under foot and in the air, but good visibility.
One hour along an old railway line, absolutely honking down, no dry bits at all
short sharp and hilly road at race pace this morning, windy but clear
5.3 miles 1000ft 37.38
first run since sheperds skyline today, had severe man flu that put me on my arse big time, did 5km on road in 20 minutes and felt ok
Hill reps last night at the club. Not done 'em before and won't be doing them again for a while either ;)
Training? thats just going for a run isn't it ?
The weather dolly got it right for once, made use of the midmorning break in the rain for a steady 90 minutes.
10 miles 1400ft
Went up Nr black clough to the Lab tea plant, across to the aircraft wreck (BLACKBURN BOTHA.) on Bleaklow Meadows (sound pretty doesn't it)NOT. up the other wreck (BOULTON AND PAUL DEFIANT) by Nr Bleaklow Stones. then up across to Bleaklow Stones. Followed HPM back to Wainstones before dropping back down to Woohead res Direct.
I was doing a Tank'ys recce a couple of weeks ago on Bleaklow looking for a more direct route between Clough Edge and PW (rain gauge turn off) and came across quite by accident the Superfortress crash site. I had heard about it before but it still came as a bit of a shock and I ended up stopping my recce and just going for a run on the PW instead.
The next time You are going up that way give a me a PM, there are lots of wrecks there abouts. 2 more apprx 1 mile west of the fortress. another on sykes moor just north of the PW above torside.
You also pass within 300m of 2 Meteors descending Blackhill
PS you were on one my TT routes;)
11 miles in the Cheviot Hills. Barrowburn, Clennell Street, Border Ridge, Windy Gyle then back to Barrowburn via the Street.
10 ball squats
10 single leg ball lunges
4 x 10 sit ups
10 single legs squats on Wobble board
10 mins on Trampet
10 mins Turbo trainer
10 single legs squats on Wobble board
(only 7 with L knee)
All in the name of REHAB:o
35 minutes or therabouts with 500ft ascent
Nothing to report apart from ticking over with 75squats every other day or so. I've got a treadmill in my room but the thought of firing the blasted thing up and actually running on it is not appealing :( Back home a week today and have a nice run out in the Dales planned ;)
Hi. Don't want to make you homesick but I missed you tonight in the peaty stuff.
Had a good run with the wind behind us on the top of the hill and the streams over flowing with all the rain we've had.
The beer was waiting patiently (for some).
Surely that is what fell running is all about?
Just thought id write it now
At 7ish. 40 minutes worth of running, hilly
6 miles 2,800ft. bit of a short kinder hill session.
Rowlee Bridge to CK down to the bottom of Jaggers up the clough round and down to the YHA straight back up via Druids Stone and the aircraft wreck to the Trig and quick blast bac to car.
Very sloppy and just a tad breazy
3m to work, 8m/1656ft headtorch, windy run home. On course for a 50m/10000ft week:)
