Looked at wife and said I'm running to the race, she called me words I will not repeat on the forum and give me the look that only women can give. So it's full kit on, bumbag fully loaded and unfortunately fell shoes for some horrible road running. I kept my vest covered, didn't wanna look a complete dick running down the A66. I was flying down the road and my feet were protesting. Got 7 miles down the road and my wife pulls alongside. Made the race and totally bonked at the top of Robinson, completed the race in 2hr. In hindsight I should of stayed in car but it looked like we were going nowhere fast. Was it a good idea to run to the race? At the time yes, once racing, no...many thanks to all involved, cracking route, organisation and food...cheers.
