a number of runners in a straight line running at a good steady pace up a long steep hill they guy at the back SPRINTS to the front and takes the lead. As soon as he gets there the new last runner Sprints to front..etc...etc until you hit the top of the hill.
we then run down at a slow pace waiting for the g*t in charge to shout 1/2/3 where we then turn round and race flat out that many lamp posts back up the hill. We end up doing more climbing on the descents:eek:
this is repeated 3 times

Lost a lot over the past few months in the pleasant but unispiriing wilds of Oxfordshire, need to be somewhere hillier and wilder to really get me and my expanding stomach out on the hill
Round Dovestones, up Chew Road, past the res. Trurned back at Chew Clough in five inch snow, when the bog monster bit me up to my thighs. Mine were the only footprints so no one to help pull me out! A shade under eight & around 1600 feet in 1:27.
A day-long deluge here has not so far motivated me to get out...
Another good/postitive run, 1hr or so in the Fife part of Pitmadden forest, even the grouchy Alsation couldnt ruin it. Excellent views of the Firth Of Tay and the highlands on a clear sunny and frosty day
Shaun

I was suppose to go on the club run tonight but the weather was thick fog and heavy snow. Didn't fancy getting stuck at the end of ladybowyer so went for a road run. did a repeat of Monday night with some imaginary friends, the only problem is they want to beat me so no time for a break:rolleyes:
about 6 miles lots of road hills and a bruised knee, elbow and pride...
... ok it was so dark and the fog/snow combo so impenetrable i ran in to a wall at a corner in the road. just never saw it even with the head torch on...:o

8.6 mile around Woolton tonight in the rain
Lunchtime: reps of bounding, hopping, running backwards and trying to sprint in Kendal cemetery! (Well, the Techniques of Downhill Running book suggests such a session can help my downhill speed - and I need all the help I can get!)
Evening: torchlit run over Loughrigg with plenty of snow underfoot.
:-)
Short but sweet run up and down Badandun Hill in Angus, 5.5-6 miles 1420ft Ascent, lovely snow conditions making life easy today!
