I would prob see a physio or give it a bit of time off. I can give it 5 full days of rest until I think its completely gone. I then run and it comes straight back.
I echo everything that Stolly has said about the icing and stuff. My physio also told me tobuild my inner quads up to help the knee track correctly. It has become very cracky and clicky but it could have done that before.
I have been cycling on it, but I'm not sure if its to good for it. The knee is still moving through the the full 45 degree motion, therefore causing friction and more inflammation. I would defo stay out of the hard gears and stay in the seat.
It's fair enough running on the flat for a while, but at the end of the day we all want to run on the hills. I'm certainly not confident enough for downhills yet.
I really suffered after a 10k also, so I would stay off the roads also. I would rest up for a while let the inflammation go down.
Its a bugger to shift, albeit not that painful. My knee's seem to have been aching dully for 4 months now on very little running.
I'm also in the mind set of forgetting how I my knee's used to feel after a long run and whether Im reading to much into things on the back of how the injury felt at its worst.
'm slightly worried about the long term effect of running through it. (oh dont be so bloody soft)
Googling (probably the worst thing you can do) suggest 4-6 weeks full recovery with complete rest icing, stretchnig and strengthening. I have yet to try this being a complete bird brain, but it does sound like a good idea. I could have been fixed up by early March.
PS - Went to the Rams last premiership away game at Ewood, the fans seemed to be having a great time.
