Gym session tonight - give my bot a rest of yesterday's unaccustomed cycling! :o
Six miles up and around Wessenden Valley. 1100 ft ups and downs in 56 mins. Cold & Icy round short grain Clough crossing.
2750ft of hill reps on Frodsham Hill in an hour and a half. I'm a bit tired. I hope this training is going to be worth it...
2 hour 'chug' from Ambleside, through Skelghyll Woods to Troutbeck, up the road to Kirkstone Pass and back to Ambleside along Stock Ghyll Lane past the farms. A bit of snow falling at Kirkstone Summit and icy on the road.
A 5.75 mile headtorcher up and around Attermire Scar tonight. That makes 191.3 miles and 32,117 feet for January
A cold 9 miles last night. New batteries in the head torch meaning I could see where I was going and lovely sharp air.
only 4 miles this morning but that included 3 hill reps of 400ft each. Head torch run tonight so didn't want to overdo it
Lovely lunchtime run from Ambleside over the Stepping Stones, Loughrigg Terrace, onto the fell above Rydal cave, and back over Todd Crag. Lily Tarn is frozen today and it was beautiful to be out. Back at work now.
18 hard miles with my mate Hes from Cray, Buckden Pike,Gt Whernside. Dropped down to Kettlewell and back along Wharfedale to Cray. Really cold on the tops in a stiff easterly. Snow on top of Gt. Whernside was hard going 8-10 inches.
Pack run round Hollingworth Lake down to Smithy Bridge and then back to Littleborough via the old road yesterday evening. Cold, clear, crisp night. Lovely!
stunning day today, started in wall to wall blue sky from Slippery Stones up cutgate to follow HPM route to Hern Clough then ran back via Alport Valley with team mate Fairy Feet. Very cold with knee deep snow in places, Bleaklow was a blanket of snow. we had to thaw the laces before we could take our fell shoes off
18 miles 1500ft hard going, Pictures later on the HPM thread.
Gorgeous blue tint to the sky for last night's run (about 5.45pm) and a shadow cast by the moon. Lovely stuff.
Across, up a hill, down a hill and across.
Nothing, as I remain beset by the lurgy. Was planning a long day's run tomorrow, probably going to have to make it a walk now. Might don the crampons and head over the Scafells.
1 hour hard turbo session last night and an easy 4 miles at lunchtime. Dodgy ankle feels good .... but is it up to Rombalds this Saturday??? Decisions, decisions .....
Not even a walk today. My cough returned with a vengance last night and chest is still very tight. Looks like an absolute belter of a day... pure blue sky and -7 outside at the moment. Not for me though! Just re-read the 'Pluerisy' thread on here and, as massively frustrating as it is, if I'm to have any hope of a big week next week I reckon rest is the only option. Woe is me...
7K last night 5 of them done as a tempo run, first and last done nice and easy
Easy 5 miles with lots of heather bashing, glorious sunny weather. Great day to be on the hill!
7.5km then 8km of 200,400 and 800s yesterday.
10km today as tired.
All on tarmac or track  but it's the weekend tomorrow  so I can get back on the rough stuff!
Caught last hour of daylight as sun was setting. Over Little Roseberry and Captain Cook's Monument. Gentle plod of about 6 miles. A joy to be out after such a long injury lay off. Looking forward to 5 hours of mountain biking and running at Warcop on Sunday.
18 slow miles, mainly street as the sun was setting but took in Rivington Pike.
8 steady miles this evening - went out at 9pm. Really clear night (with the added bonus that the cold seems to keep the youth of Bury at home rather than lurking in the parks and bus shelters offering 'encouragement' to me as I run.)
4 mile road hill session. 1000ft of climb in two good hills in sowerby bridge.
11 miles 1100' road and track. Climbs well spread out :D. SOme fine snow starting to fall as I got back home.
...see BG Training!! :)
16.5 miles on tracks/trails around Harrogate, North Rigton, Huby and Beckwithshaw, tough going on frozen rutted mud in fields but great fun.
4 miles through deep snow with some car pushing thrown in for good measure.
Smoggy,
What was going on up Warcop!?
10 miles and 1615ft ups and downs from our house to the Top of West Nab and back. reasonably quick for me in in 1:46:41. Great snow fun. Hope there is more to come before spring!
