no worries Stolly....
Can't believe it's a year since I ran this with Laura, Anne and Keith...happy days.
Good luck to all the teams lucky enough to have a place in this year's race. Some pals and I will be out and about around Edale tomorrow morning to cheer you in. Have a good, safe run everyone.
I'm going to pop along to the start and wish you all well. I'm not running but may appear from behind a rock with a camera so keep those smiles going...
If any one wants a rescue ale I'm taking some along tonight>>.Not for drinking but for when you've finished. grab me if you want some.
Ian
Just sorting my last bits out before heading over to Edale for the start.
Good luck everyone, have a good night and stay safe .
If I was somewhere up on Rushup Edge at about 8am tomorrow for an hour or two would I see a few teams going through? Too early? Too late???
rumour has it that Tiggers Last Stand were third and won the mixed team from the farmers wife who were literally seconds behind. still waiting further details
Just back from a bike ride over to Edale. There were some very big grins - everyone seemed to have had a great time. Perfect conditions, and apparently some new records set.
Further news that first two broke the record. both under 8 hours. new Ladies Record from Carnethy.
all this from sleep deprived FB posts
Yes, a great run from Carnethy Ladies and it would have been an even faster time if had they not made a bit of a nav mistake.
I believe that Matt The Brum (on his return to the long stuff) and his team mates, took the win in a new course record of 7:51.
Records galore
Fastest team
Ladies Record
Mixed record
Vets Record?
The third and forth teams could have won it with those times in previous years. Condotions were obviously very good for fast times. These records may stand for quite a while..
What happened to the Rollerbladers Grouse? and to Avon Mountain team?
Just think how fast you'd have gone if you hadn't taken pics Ian Good blog mate :D
Fantastic trot out but crikey the ground was rock hard with the frost - my feet felt battered at the end. Well done the High Peak Scuttlers though finishing in 11 hrs 19

Thanks for the brill pics Iain, you've really captured the gorgeousness of that dawn over Bleaklow. What a great night out: easy navigation and a frozen bog monster meant even our middlin' team got our long-awaited sub-12 finish. Well done to the record breakers! Thanks to the organisers: fab as always :)
Th Rollerbladers squad was a bit depeleted this year so we deferred our entry to next year We're a bit gutted because we have always wanted to go under 9 hours and that would have been the night to do it. I joined up with a team looking for a last minute replecement and had very pleasant trot round with them. Well done everyone and thank you to Richard and all the organisers for another grand night out!
Vets record: not a straightforward definition! In 2008, in the absence of a fast 'old' vets team, the winning elite team of 'young' vets were also the vets handicap winners. In 2009 the vets team with an aggregate age of 247 years won the vets with a record handicap time of 6:48. That, in my opinion is a more representative record.
This was my first High Peak Marathon and, despite what I said at Bleak Low, I hope it won't be my last. What a brilliant event! Big thanks go to my fellow team members Gavin and Phil and, El Capitan Stolly and also all the organisers and marshals. It was bitterly cold and yet each person at every checkpoint was cheery and encouraging including Harriet the border terrier at Snake Road :) I had some low moments including falling face first in freezing cold water, which was funny for the ten seconds before I felt frozen to the core, but the highs far outweighed them. What a stunning night. Moonlight reflected on the ice and a starry sky when crossing Bleak Low, a fabulous sunrise and mountain hares. I don't think my exhausted team mates fully appreciated the skylarks singing as we finished the final descent but I felt like singing myself. Well done to everyone that took part.
Pics of most finishers - but not the first couple of teams - at http://www.dpfr.org.uk/photos/683/show_all_thumbnails
Anyone know when the full results come out?
They are on Sportident
What's the story with the 3 disqualified teams?
In the past a team of three finishers was listed as incomplete. Perhaps this is what disq means.
The Carnethy Ladies felt very disappointed, having lost around 50 minutes on what is the easiest part of the course - Derwent Edge to Lost Lad. I wonder what exactly was the mistake they made. They could have finished in well under 9 hours. Perhaps they will be back to claim another new record!
They carried on past back tor for 20 mins, and had to retrace and make the turn for lost lad
This was our (the Southwell Gazelles*) first time at the HPM and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. What a brilliant event. The weather and conditions underfoot just couldn't have been better. We were one of the early starting teams and looking back from Howden Edge to the torchlight procession following behind was a sight to behold.
The sunrise on Bleaklow was just serene, and the whole experience is one we'll never forget.
Totally agree with that, what a sporting bunch they were, and good to see Harriet get a mention. She is a veteran of many BG supports including both my attempts and trotted alongside us all the way in from Snake Pass. No bother!
*I would like to make it public knowledge that our team name was not chosen or supported by me!
