I cant remember the wind being behind us at any point:o It was ok until there was a lull and then cos u were componsating for the wind u nearly ran off the edge!! scary stuff.Oh and i dont think i'll be up to much in any pics,not with blood smeared all over my face from my nose:(

Good race today really enjoyed it. Thanks to Des for phoning after the race to check my finishing position and get me in the results!
I don't think you can say this wasn't a 'proper' fell race today, I've never seen so much blood at the end of a race, lots of people with cuts in lots of places. There was folk goin' down all over the place. The sprint finish where the runner went down me and Mrs Barry had to look away.

If anyone wants any for their local paper/s, let me have the email address of the person responsible for athletics reports at the paper or the sports desk [if you don't know either the name of the paper might be enough - googles great for finding most], the image/s you want sending [plus name, club etc - not all numbers are visible].

Brilliant pictures BUT why do I always have to be pulling a cr***y face? Why can't I look cool, athletic etc etc? Looks as though someone has stuck a poker up my bum!:eek:

Sorry, I am just migrating the whole Rochdale site (500MB) to a new server at snail FTP pace. Thought it take a day or so for the old one to vanish, giving time for the new one to upload. It diid look a spectacular fall, i'm pretty sure you beat the other fella you were sprinting with and you did have a huge smile on yer face (just before you went down).

Anyone got the official list of results yet? Have tried do work out the Run the Moors League from John's photos but would hate to miss anyone out!!:o
I note that the Crowden horseshoe race isn't listed in the 2009 calendar. Does anyone know if it will be on this year? :confused:

Lad's Leap and Crowden pencilled in accordingly, just hope I manage to do them as they're local races.
Planning a walk-jog recce of Crowden this weekend (would rather it was a run, but calf/achilles has other ideas at the mo).
Anyone got any top tips for getting the line right when you get off the safety of the flags and head into t' bog?
Seemed so easy last year, but navigation's never that difficult when you're plodding around in the middle of the pack with a line of runners to follow...

Swoop and I ran this course on Monday. A lot different than it was last year (I recollect running in trail shoes). Was very boggy, we both fell over quite a bit, up to my knees in mud on more than one occasion, and very very windy. Should be a challenge on Sunday!

Was windy on Sunday morning too. But I've never know it not to be blowing a gale above Laddow Rocks!
Didn't manage to do full recce for various reasons (too many to go into, but nothing to do with Ian's nav tips) but enjoyed being out on t' moors and looking forward to plodding around at the back of the field this coming Sunday. Under strict instructions from the physio not to be pushing poorly calf/achilles to breaking point (again).
Geoff - apologies from Compo. He was sure he had introduced us, but to be honest, he was probably thinking more about canny route choices and race tactics than social niceties. "Hello Nora" is fine by me. :)
