    Question Wot, no Crowden Horseshoe?

I note that the Crowden horseshoe race isn't listed in the 2009 calendar. Does anyone know if it will be on this year?

    same with Lad's Leap

I'd like to do Crowden Horseshoe myself this year... <muses>
it's 6 days before Cader Idris, but should be able to manage both, as I'll be so fit by then...

Lad's Leap and Crowden pencilled in accordingly, just hope I manage to do them as they're local races.

    Crowden

Planning a walk-jog recce of Crowden this weekend (would rather it was a run, but calf/achilles has other ideas at the mo).

Anyone got any top tips for getting the line right when you get off the safety of the flags and head into t' bog?

Seemed so easy last year, but navigation's never that difficult when you're plodding around in the middle of the pack with a line of runners to follow...

Leave soldiers lump on about 145 degrees mag. cross fence by one of many stiles. if foggy don't drift left you will end up heading to holme moss

you may miss the path but keep going down one of the grough until you pick up tooleyshaw from there start to head more south but just stay on the top. plenty of fences posts and bogs to show you the way.

could this be the first Tanky reccie of the year!!!

You wouldn't be the famouse flamin' nora would you??

Tankys? Er.... bit out of my league that one. I'm more of a Gravy Pud girl.

I tend to leave the true endurance stuff to Compo.

    Thanks for the nav tips.
