I was feeling pretty knackered after that one, probably the wind I suppose. Fantastic scene at Kinder Downfall where the wind had blown the water back onto the plateau and it had coated all the rocks with a layer of ice  It was the first time I had run the Mill Hill route as I usually cut across to the Kinder plateau and it seemed to go on forever with the strong wind in your face.
Thanks to Nicky and all her helpers and those brilliant MRT marshalls. I hope everyone got back without any major mishaps.
I'm broken.
Thank you to the race organisers especially the mountain rescue check point dudes.
Time for some beer.

"As ever, a well organised and well run event.
A somewhat longwinded blog of my race (as ever) can be found here.

Nice write up and read (as ever) Zeph.
Sounds like you paced it just right, finishing strong!
Like you I:
- started steady and it helped conserve some energy for the second gnarlier half.
- got hacked off with the 'peak exposure' when removing gloves to unclip backpack waist strap to reveal number below jacket.
- had a wind-side contact lens that played havoc fighting not to get blown out (the leeside one was fine).
- plunged (one legged) into those between-flag holes (Snake summit - Mill Hill section) 3 times, but unlike you was lucky not to do any damage.
- perked up after heading east from Kinder Low to Grindslow and enjoyed the cruise down the hill into Edale.
Not a fast time today for me but a memorable day out.
Hope your wounds heal soon.
Great but tough race today. Thanks to the organisers and Woodhead Mountain Rescue, they were out is some pretty grim conditions. Food was excellent as ever and some great support, jelly babies aplenty. Favourite moment was when they tried to give the second ladies prize to a bloke!
I hope that everyone has thawed out by now - it was a bit breezy up on Bleaklow and I can only imagine how bad it was on the edge of Kinder!
Despite the conditions there were quite a few smiles on the faces of the runners and to prove it there are some photos on this link https://www.flickr.com/photos/114588...7650237963961/

Well done to all. Here are some more photos from just below Black Hill.

The morning after & I'm feeling a little sore in the legs. Big thanks go out again to RO, marshals, MRT, supporters & the crowds that gathered to cheer at CPs along the way. Despite feeling a little emotional when I couldn't feel my hands going on to Kinder, and losing a fair few places in the last third, I found the whole race pretty life affirming.
Some great photos there. I always think the ones in the groughs look good as the backgrounds are constantly changing as the photographer tries to catch everyone going different routes. He even got me and I was on my own on a parallel track with some other runners up to Shelf Stones.
The highlight for me yesterday was sledging down the final hill into Edale. My backside was frozen for about 15 minutes afterwards but the slide was great fun :D
Results are up

I am becoming a creature of habit, just missing the top half. 10 minutes needed this time, almost the same as Pendle before Christmas!
Steve, try refreshing your screen (View - Refresh). You may have opened the page earlier before the results were posted.
I've just been going through some of the picture from the trigger, it looks to me like margarine was running instead of grouse....:D
I can assure you, they were both there.
I wondered who it was using me as a wind shield all the way up to Mill Hill. Got to Kinder Corner and the crafty bugger shot off like a scalded cat.
Cracking photos! Your shot of me bent double made the front page of the race website; quite why I'm bent double when the runner behind me is upright I cannot explain, maybe I was cowering from the wind... Great shot mind & I'm glad you didn't capture me whimpering on Kinder!
Twas me behind you although not upright for much longer as I face planted 10 mins later on descent off black hill, then had sole of my shoe hanging off on kinder had to wait till I got to bottom of Jacobs to
tie it back together with compass string, great ordeal tho'😀
Well I am not as fast as zephr at either running or writing but here is my more leisurely ramble.

Are you Mark Fermer - can your pictures be used for the next Fellrunner Magazine if they are suitable - can we have your permission?
cheers Daleside
I'm trying to reply to William Clough's message -

cheers!!
Um... Was running up at Black Hill today and came across a pile of flags, tape and associated bits pretty much dumped just off the Pennine way where the Trigger line goes.
Is this debris from the race - still there from January?!
or possibly from moors for the future, they keep doing grass trials to see what is the most hardy.
Nah - definitely looked like race paraphenalia.
