1 hour over the Howgill-esque hills of Tatenhill.....
Well I wish it was an hour or so meandering hither and thither accross the finest fells imaginable. Alas it wasnt - 30 mins on yet another treadmill
Ive met you Dominion - I think it was at this years Lads Leap where we both suffered in the heat.
Currently living in New Hampshire USA and seeing far to many hotel treadmills for my liking
20 miles 2,200ft over the hills Back just in time to pick daughter up from school.
Route included Black Hill-Crowden- Bleaklow-Barrow-Grinha, very wet and very drained (Fells are the first bit I'm the second) ran between 5 aircraft wrecks. great day out,
Just up from your house AJohns
How long did that little trip out take Ian?
Just done 13 miles on the moors, on and around Hobson Moor.
And I did 5 miles this morning.
Set off at 9.00 in very thick fog. Sunshine broke through as I got to Blackhill. took Tankies route down but went over Silsden to the two Meteors-Crowden Dinner by TPT up Stable Clough to turning circle over moors to Birching bank (Wellington) - Black Moss(Blackburn)- Nr Bleaklow Stones (Defiant) then Watershed to Featherbed and over Roundhill for 3.00.
Some searching for wrecks that weren't obvious so not running then. Also tried to find some tea Plants FOUND 1 only 6 to go.
Total time 6.00
Bloody long run Ian. Impressive route. Might combine Black Hill and Bleaklow together on Sunday for my long run.
There are supposed to be several labrador tea plants growing on Bleaklow.

thanks
There are 9 known Labrador tea plants in the Peak National park, I have Grid Refs for all, So far I have found three, but on checking my info I'm annoyed because the was another only 20 meters away from my route today:mad: They are Green and grow in big mounds like heather. so they are easy to spot on the moors!!!;) They are native of America and as far as I am aware no one knows how they got there. They are part of the Rhododendron but they grow extremely slowly.
More Pics here
I like looking for them as they take you to places on the hills where you wouldn't normally go just like the wreck and they are good Nav practise.
If any one has any other unusual objects on the hill let me know.
The tea plants look really familiar to me, I'm sure I have seen some, so I'm surprised there are so few known. I will keep an eye out and report if I make a definite sighting.
7.5 misty & wet miles/3000' on Pendle CP's 5 to 11. Not many peeps up there today.
7.5 miles Baydale loop, flat by river, bombed around second half in finished it in 1 hr. Not bad a few days after Marathon.
the Labrador tea plant sounds interesting , thought it was only found in Scottish Peat Bogs.
Have you heard of people collecting whats called 'gale' on the North york Moors. think it's bog myrtle. A tea is made, an old fashioned remedy type thing i think. Think a beer is made too.
10 miles tonight over the hills
first time ive listened to the prodigy on my i pod
to much take your brain to another dimension :)
pay close attention
Another wet and misty session today - on the bike though for 59 miles around to Airton & Hetton. Pleasant loop on some very quite lanes for the most part. Got plagued with clouds of tiny flies on the back lanes, never had as many dead flies pasted round my eyes and on my head!
A hilly 8 road miles in hot sunshine. I was dripping at the end:cool:
8.5 miles tonight part road, part trail and part leaves. Cool and refreshing which was nice
22 miles on moors, tracks, paths and roads.
Swallows wood, Hobson Moor, Carrbrook Moor, Roman Rd to Dovestones, up to Chew and over to Crowden. Back down the trail, round a reser and round Hadfield. Lovely.
Decided I'm not yet fit enough to even do a 3 mile race (sorry Brett!!) so 68 mins on and around Otley Chevin/Danefield at much slower than race pace. Great to see all the autumn colours:)
Great run there RR. Looks like your at your peak distance runs for the Dublin. How long did that run take you by the way? must have been about 3 hours or so. Im gonna say " break a leg" this time rather than wishing you luck - my wishes always seem to be the kiss of death
10 miles from the Boar's Head around Lyme Park.
Quads were aching coming down the hill at the end. Legacy of yesterday's relays!
A quick 5 mile road run after work to blow the cobwebs away, that's it now until the Pendle recce on Wednesday and due to the fact I have to get 26 hours at work in before then.
well i did 2 hrs 20 mins
think thats the good thing about this thread
i couldnt be arsed earlier but looked at andi's post and have just done a good session
Well done Daz, bet you felt so much better after you'd done it! Often the hardest thing is getting out of the door and getting that first couple of miles out of the way.
2hours7 for me, a nice off road route from a mates house in Headingley up to Eccup Reservoir and looping back.
My first post on the training thread...
2 reasons, I actually did some training and I went on some proper hills to do it :D
10 miles up and around Ladybower on Saturday morning.
Just a really easy 5 miler. Aiming to get in 50 miles this week.
6 miles steady , my legs ached a lot but it was a nice night , first time back on the pavement for a bit , loads of runners out tonight , but not one said hello
i always say hi to runners but some are really miserable b,......rds:( , i doesnt take much to acknowledge each other
I always say hello too daz but feel a bit silly when they don't reply :o (miserable gits  )
yesterday out on the bike and didn't fall off. Today nothing
Six Miles on the moors over Old Glossop, gettin harder to get Off Road with these dark nights comin !
First time back to circuits in 2 years.....shock and awe on the abs but otherwise not too shabby.:)
Don't know the mileage but 1 hour doing repeat steep hill intervals in short bursts. could hardly walk at the end.
