thanks
There are 9 known Labrador tea plants in the Peak National park, I have Grid Refs for all, So far I have found three, but on checking my info I'm annoyed because the was another only 20 meters away from my route todayThey are Green and grow in big mounds like heather. so they are easy to spot on the moors!!!
They are native of America and as far as I am aware no one knows how they got there. They are part of the Rhododendron but they grow extremely slowly.

I like looking for them as they take you to places on the hills where you wouldn't normally go just like the wreck and they are good Nav practise.
If any one has any other unusual objects on the hill let me know.
The tea plants look really familiar to me, I'm sure I have seen some, so I'm surprised there are so few known. I will keep an eye out and report if I make a definite sighting.
7.5 misty & wet miles/3000' on Pendle CP's 5 to 11. Not many peeps up there today.
7.5 miles Baydale loop, flat by river, bombed around second half in finished it in 1 hr. Not bad a few days after Marathon.
the Labrador tea plant sounds interesting , thought it was only found in Scottish Peat Bogs.
Have you heard of people collecting whats called 'gale' on the North york Moors. think it's bog myrtle. A tea is made, an old fashioned remedy type thing i think. Think a beer is made too.
10 miles tonight over the hills
first time ive listened to the prodigy on my i pod
to much take your brain to another dimension![]()
pay close attention
Another wet and misty session today - on the bike though for 59 miles around to Airton & Hetton. Pleasant loop on some very quite lanes for the most part. Got plagued with clouds of tiny flies on the back lanes, never had as many dead flies pasted round my eyes and on my head!
