The Marian is the village green I think, by a big field where they play cricket, from what I can remember, & there's a stone circle.
Well I emailed that Andrew several times last year, to ask about the cut-off, & he never replied to any email at all.

Very Interesting comment in today's Cambrian News (Meirionydd's weekly paper).

Tim did suffer in the heat at Llety as did I. So cooler conditions will favour him as it will myself. But cant see me come within 8 minutes of the record to be honest so I'm not even dreaming about it ;-) I have my goal to aim for time wise so I'll stick to that. £250 up for grabs for the record though plus first prize, could be a very rewarding day for someone.
Some repair work done to the path after Rhiw Gwredydd (cut off point), nice to run up but it'll be like wet slab on the descent and you can carry some speed down that section belive me :-)
Checked the forecast now, looks like a wetish one with low cloud as is the norm for Cader so much cooler with no potential of siteseeing :-)

I went up on Sunday for a pre race recce, the path looks like it had some work done and looks like a healthy weather report for tomorrow, a little damp. All the best everyone, I'm expecting big things from the gafr, top 10??. See you in the river afterwards.

hitting the road last year on the way down killed me.....think of the BBCs footage of someone struggling on the Mall in the London Marathon - that was me last year...god know's where my legs went! The last 2 miles were HELL!

Thanks to the marshalls sat at the summit, I wouldnt have wanted to hang around up there today. Im sat waiting for my knees to start swelling after the steep road descent, hopefully the beers will stop the inflammation!! A cracking race! Brum

and for a moment the sun broke through the clouds at the start.....but after the Lletty last weekend I quite welcomed the rain

Yes, think I was 7th reaching the summit. I had a good descent of the mountain itself 14min from the summit to Ty Nant, but with that sort of speed trying to close the gap to Andy, I instantly paid the price when I got to Ty Nant left calf cramp kicked in, had to stop and stretch it out so lost a bit of time but nothing major. Very very happy with 2nd overall and chuffed I knocked 14mins off last year.
A massive well done to all that completed the race in quite difficult conditions.
Hope you all enjoyed my local town, it's a lovely place when the sun's out!! Honest ;-)

My HUGE pink rucksack was quite light really! I thought it sensible to take a few bits & bobs with me, as I thought I might miss the cut-off, so knew I'd be out there on my own.
It will be THIRD time lucky next year when I actually get in the results!!
To he honest, I'm just happy I can run at all after breaking my ankle last summer. It's just nice to be back & able to run on rough ground again.

What a great race! Wasn't sure I was going to start this one with putting my back out the night before the start - typical!
Anyway got on with it and happy with 2hr 5'n half min first effort. Sub 2hours next year's on. Thanks to everyone concerned.
Nightingale, I did actually get a bit lost!! I drifted off the path for a while when it got really foggy & wet!!
Being slow, & not coming with anyone, I felt I should bring enough clothing & water to look after myself in case of emergencies. Last year I saw no water stations as I was so slow they had gone, so I wanted to carry enough water to see me through if it was hot.
I have a bumbag, though sadly not pink! Maybe I'll risk it next year as a rucksack is annoying!
I feel my ankle is up to more training now. Have had to be careful running on rough ground for a few months.
