I have got to get up very early tomorrow
Not as early as I would have to get up to get there, if I were to be able to run :D
Right a few questions
Is Hanneke going
Is Mezza staying
on a lighter note....i now have....pink leg warmers, gloves and vest
I could leave now and be in time in the George for the Abba do, if it wasn't for the fact that I need to swap the courtesy car back to my own car tomorrow morning :(
Mind you, I am not well enough to do all that driving :(:(
Mezza...il put up my bed if you want so thats 2
Dog's boll***s Merry, you're a trooper ;).
I'm starting to feel really nervous, help! i don't know anyone:eek: Think i'll take the A65 then up the M6, setting off at around 7 so i can get some brekky in Keswick. Still don't know where the Hall thingy is .
Here, map of keswick on there as well mate;)

Cheers Merry. I'm starting to think about what to do footwear wise, we can expect the temperature up high to be below zero and i don't have any waterproof running shoes. If snow melts on my shoes and gives me wet feet it's going to be awful, i think all i can do is to wear 2/3 pairs of socks and spray some Nikwax onto my Walshes.
How is anyone else approaching this problem or am i the only one worrying?
Erm, might just be you. Wet feet? You've tried this fell-running lark before, haven't you?:D:p Just a regular pair of trail socks for me.
I'm thinking more of what the going underfoot will be like: wet and muddy, break out the Walshes; hard and rocky, might give the Swoops a test. Will take advice from the advance Abba Recce Sqn.
Hann,
Sooo sorry; going to have to re-wrap now!
Lots of folk at work have the Samsung, bought from Amazon (tax free in Afg) but always go for the memory upgrade (roughly £25). Fits in seconds and really helps. As for your films how about a rugged external drive (also Amazon) which will hold upwards of 100 films, use like iPod. Costs ish £75.
Keep warm,
Lots of soup
xx
Ohhhhh... thanks Lola darling! Mwah!!!!
A friend tries to convince me to buy a mac, but they are 4x more expensive!
I am still feeling sorry for myself for being stuck here, in stead of having fun up in the Lakes... will miss you :(
xxx
P.S. this may sound silly, but how do I get the films onto the external drive???? No drive on the netbook and the dvd's I have cannot be copied... so I'd rather have an external dvd/cd drive to be honest... seems easier?
Crumbs! I've not packed yet!
Phew! Job's a good un. Bound to have forgotten something.
On a worrying note, just necked some Beechams All-In-One after a couple of hot flushes and some difficulty swallowing in the last hour. I'm sure I'll be reet.
Would like an early night, but got to pick BH up from her work's do at 12.
*yawn*
Edit. Phone call from BH: Make it 1 o'clock.
All the best Han, hope your 100% soon.
Off in half hour when, might take that long to wake Miss Merrylegs, might just put her in the car asleep. 4 star hotel tonight, won't sleep in such luxury, not used to it:eek:
Safe journey everyone, and spare a thought for those who can't make it;)
Up but not quite at 'em at the minute. It was our Christmas do at work yesterday (lunchtime, afternoon and evening) and all sorts of vague and bad memories are coming back to me :o. A strong mug of tea will hopefully sort me out. Later 'gator.
Last check on here to make sure there's no arrangement alterations, Boot Hall blown up by terrorists etc :D Wonder if the antifreeze in my car has frozen? it's coyld aht thee'er. OK see everyone there. :)
What a fabulous day! The best weather and amazing frosty white views set against blue skies. Great to meet a lovely bunch of peeps too. Loved it!
Amex....thanks for the surprise....yum yum...cheers! What a star! But how come you missed out on that last very steep long incline??? Or was that part of the surprise?!
Well that's part one of the feat completed......just the drinking and the dancing to get through now!
Me too....best one yet....splendid chaos:D
If anyone has any photos they want to send me i'll post them on the Pony site.

Smashing day out, can't believe how nervous i was walking up to a group of folks who knew eachother but not me and introducing myself. Had to do the run in my retro Adidas traccy top due to leaving my Inov8 on the chair at home, d'oh! Funny watching Al Fowler getting chased by Lamas at the start, perhaps they took you for their b1tch Al...?
Respect to the suicide squad who showed balls of steel and did Sharp Edge, can't believe turbo still has the use of all his limbs after turning up questionably accoutre'd to say the least :D. Visibility was excellent and the views were cracking, the ground was carpeted in that wind blown frost that forms little rifts and ridges. No idea whatsoever how Nee Bother's trilby stayed on all day, it was very windy up top.
The descent down to Mungrisdale was fast and dodgy in places but really enjoyed it, hope Del Monte's knee is ok, managed to stay on my feet despite being in trail shoes. Think i met everyone but can't remember any names! when you spend your teenage years smoking pot short term memory is hard to come by when you're older, it'll probably take me at least 2 XOTFs to get things registering .
Big thanks to Amex and Emmi for the organisation, and Amex for the Mulled Wine at Mungrisdale, it wasn't without it's charm but i'll put it down as an acquired taste as it was my first sampling ;). You're probably all 'avin it to Culture Club in The Loft as i write this.....wish i was there :D.
Best of luck with the job Merry.
Just in from the Loft. What a cracking day! Big thanks and many kisses to the superb Amex.
The run route was perfect, and mulled wine and mince pies went down a treat. Took me a while to thaw out - even after 3 mugs of Bovril - and still wasn't feeling right in the curry house. I was well and truly fragged.
We went with great anticipation to the Loft, after tales of Steve's dancing built him up to legendary proportions. I was not disappointed. No inhibitions, and once he pops, he can't stop! As for the rest of the posse, when they could stay on their feet(;)) there were plenty of others busting some awesome moves: TT burning off the four dinners he had; Amex proving surprisingly agile; OHW, Emmi and MG showing the girls of Keswick how it should be done... Everyone had a cracking time, despite the ropey music and some pretty ropey locals!:D
Looking forward to next year's already. Thanks again big guy.:)
