Iain if I'm being absolutely honest I can't even stand to look at an image of Bacon-face anywhere, be it TV, magazine, newspaper, whatever, I dislike the bullying, self-centred control freak that much.

And right now I actually think he's walked away from the fight because he knew he couldn't win.

It's the same with all bullies, they cannot stand to lose the control,

Having said all of that there is one picture of him that I adore, I can stare at if for hours on end.That is the picture of his purple nosed, florid, bacon like chops as the disgusting realisation dawned on him that "little City" had " literally" forcefully snatched the premiership trophy out of his sweaty pudgy hands and claimed it as their own ...thanks to Sergio.

He will never get over that, not ever.

Iain what you fail to understand is that United winning the league last year, painful though it was, was definitely to our long term advantage.

That Bacon-face felt he could resign, having taken the title back, will I believe prove to have significantly damaged United in the long term.

It was clear to anyone that United's squad had two glaring and systemic problems at its heart. A lack of power and purpose in midfield and a rapidly ageing defence.

Rather than take steps to address these deficiencies and to build again for the long term, however, Bacon-face elected to go for a quick fix to get the League back off City.

He bought Van Persie, a man rapidly approaching his 30th birthday. This was at odds with his previous management style when attempting to recover from footballing adversity, where he took great risks when rebuilding: selling Ince, Hughes and Kanchelskis and going with the "kids" was one such example.

On this occasion, however, he went for the quick fix - because he was so consumed with reclaiming the title from City, no other considerations entered his thoughts in any meaningful sense.

Because his energies were entirely focused on taking the title back off City he gave little or no thought to the problems which now threaten to overwhelm United's squad.

When squad’s age there comes a point when things can unravel very quickly - United are now at that point.

Everyone has an Achilles-heel and Bacon-face's was that he loved winning so much, and hating losing to City so much, especially in that manner, that he went fighting his own selfish battle, rather than the one that was in the best interests of United.

Sergio's goal, it seems to me, will become even more significant and beautiful with the passage of time.

Mark Bosnich was not too happy with Fergie's comments about him and in between mouthfuls of pie he made it plain "The fact remains that I was the only player he signed twice at Manchester United". Of course the biggest disappointment about Mark Bosnich was for the local takeaways when he left and they had a sudden plummeting of profits :rolleyes:

I missed most of the 1st half of the City match tonight and all of the goals but they got the result even though the City defence wasn't too convincing. I couldn't believe those CSKA neo-nazis chanting against Yaya when they had two black players of their own, and probably their best players, in the team :confused:

I think CSKA should also decide whether they want a football pitch or a tractor testing ground as well :rolleyes:

I'm just saying It as it is Iain. The dismantling of the Rag Empire is clear for all to see since Gollum took over. You have lost most of their air of invincibility that you once had and the fact that the Govan Piss Can slags off some of the club's' icons in his book further undermines the debt-ridden shambles of a club from the inside.

I've heard it from a lot of Rags that once Gill left, the GPC knew that his successor Woodward would keep tight purse strings and therefore retired/ran off to pre-empt further humiliations

In my mind we are definitely seeing the start of decline of empire (especially as I'm old enough to be struck by the parallels with the post Busby years.)

Arsenal winning the league, as I have said to kids at school, I don't think so!! Being an Arsenal fan, it's great winning at the start but sooner or later things go pear shaped and by March / April it's downright depressing. If Arsenal can take points off the big 4, I may change my opinion but the fact is with like for like fixtures from last year, I think Arsenal are actually down with their results!!

They were poor against Dortmund, played OK but still look vulnerable. But its the msost open title for a good decade. I can't see Man U winning it from here but noone is standing out at the moment and I expect Liverpool to drop points.

Iain I'll make a prediction. We will be top by the end of February and will stay there. Yesterday hurt, but we've all been through far worse at City! We are the best team in this league and over the course of the season we will prove it.

I'm of the view that you don't drop your keeper for a mistake, but this has been a year of dodgy moments.. for me he's stil the best around but I think h now needs taking out of the firing line. Even Fergie did it with schmeichel in 1999 and let him have a mid season break.

Yesterday he should have never been out there.. even if he had won it he was out of his box in a bad position and nastasic was in control.

I don't think anyone is setting the league alight, Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal have been the best so far but they will drop away and United, City and Chelsea have all been fairly average. 9 times out of 10 our season would be over with 14 pts from 9 games, but from here, with no team taking charge there is still all to play for but we do need a 8-10 game run of good results.
