She must be in great form judging from her Tanky's result.

She awesomely strong at the moment. esp on the climbs. I probably had my best result of the year at tanky's and she was only few minutes behind me.
She has such determination and will power. On our Monday Hill sessions/races I struggle to catch her. What a year she has had. One tough lady.
Anyone had an acknowledgement for their entry fee. They said they'd issue a receipt by email when they got the cheque. I've not heard and today is the last day, before they start offering places to other teams.
Nope.
Me neither. Emailed them earlier today.
This thread seems to have gone quiet and it's only days away, Most unusual.
I got dradfted in to a team yesterday so I'll be at the start and hopefully at the finish.
Derwent edge was still sguidy but was starting to dry last week. any rain though will soon return it to it's natural state:eek:
I'll be up by Swains Head running a Nav course tommorrow so I'll give an up date on consistency then...;):D
Ps I'll bring some Ale with me in case any one wants some.
I can't think of anything to post about it  - the weather, as I always knew it would, is turning for the worse and I just 'can't wait' to be staggering through all those maze like peat bogs on the 8 mile bogathon stretch up to Bleaklow and just beyond.... In the dark.... In almost certain clag.... And in as likely as not driving rain.
I'm just girding my loins :D. That beer sounds like a lovely carrot at the end of a long and muddy stick!
I've been sleeping instead of surfing :)
We went for a "run" (ie slow walk) along the section from the start to Cut Throat bridge on Friday night. Quite hilly. Not sure what it achieved, other than to increase the general level of foreboding!
Where do they put the High Neb control, is it on the main path, or hidden away at the foot of the crag somewhere? Or is it a closely guarded secret ;)
The path from there to Moscar was the boggiest I've seen it, though I never went in above knee deep...
It's too early wake me up on Friday afternoon.
I too was drafted/coerced in last Wednesday evening (in the pub no less, and under the influence!) so Il see you on the start line! The rain is pouring, iv been snoring, and Iv got a feeling this 40 miles is going to be anything but boring :D
I've been up on the watershed today and it really is living up to it's name, if the rest of the route is the same I 'd put my money and the team with webbed feet;)
Fresh snow esp on Bleaklow and snowwing when we walked off...

I'll pack the snorkel
Who is team Potter Power??
As the founding member I see we are on the start list and I don't know any members?? Obviously toughened warriors who are willing to carry the flag!
The latest Met Office forecast looks rather unpleasant.
Hopefully MWIS this afternoon will be better...
Metcheck isn't too bad.
Which forecast do you look at on the Metoffice
Met check for Kinder:

Metcheck is always wrong - but I hope this is the exception that proves the rule :)
Pretty good forecast really:

Much better. OK, that's the one I'm going to believe :)
At the moment it looks like we are lucky with worse weather due later on Saturday and Sunday. Seems as close to perfect as there can be, I suppose Ideally all frozen but that's hard on the joints.
Good to see you are finally making it Iain, Have you got Rob and Sarah in your team?
It was very cold last night with a quite frost but the sun has been out today, I suspect there will be a thin surface crust but not enough to support anyones weight.:( certainly not mine:o
Probably frozen enough to make you think it's solid, until you put your full weight onto it :)
NO, Rob dropped out of solaris I think they are called. Still having knee issues. Sarah's doing the XC in Notts.
I'm running with High peak rollerbladers.
Good luck all, especially team Girlie Wurleys.
Yes, good luck to one and all. We're one of the first so-called "running" teams to start, so make sure you all say hello as you overtake us :)
See y'all at Edale village hall then. And good luck :D
Best of luck to all you High Peak Marathoners;)
Good luck everyone. Good race this!
Just don't end up balls deep in bog like I did on a recce last year!
HPMers - remember today, don't stand if you can sit down, don't sit down if you can lie down. It's going to be a long day! See you tonight.;)
