    Re: High Peak Marathon Marchis

This thread seems to have gone quiet and it's only days away, Most unusual.

I got dradfted in to a team yesterday so I'll be at the start and hopefully at the finish.
Derwent edge was still sguidy but was starting to dry last week. any rain though will soon return it to it's natural state

I'll be up by Swains Head running a Nav course tommorrow so I'll give an up date on consistency then...

Ps I'll bring some Ale with me in case any one wants some.

I can't think of anything to post about it - the weather, as I always knew it would, is turning for the worse and I just 'can't wait' to be staggering through all those maze like peat bogs on the 8 mile bogathon stretch up to Bleaklow and just beyond.... In the dark.... In almost certain clag.... And in as likely as not driving rain.

I'm just girding my loins . That beer sounds like a lovely carrot at the end of a long and muddy stick!

I've been sleeping instead of surfing

We went for a "run" (ie slow walk) along the section from the start to Cut Throat bridge on Friday night. Quite hilly. Not sure what it achieved, other than to increase the general level of foreboding!

Where do they put the High Neb control, is it on the main path, or hidden away at the foot of the crag somewhere? Or is it a closely guarded secret
The path from there to Moscar was the boggiest I've seen it, though I never went in above knee deep...

I've been up on the watershed today and it really is living up to it's name, if the rest of the route is the same I 'd put my money and the team with webbed feet

Fresh snow esp on Bleaklow and snowwing when we walked off...
