8 x 1200 on the track, very tough session
Ah these quaint Cumberland fetish pastimes! I here Trundling is popular too.
Just a nice steady 8, hilly trail and road with the brother in law. Winding down before Carnethy now, my first target race for the year and a marker of how the winters training is going. Feeling good, so hopeful but not been in the hills much so a bit nervous and not expecting too much.
Jason
You bastard! Not that I could run that distance mind but it really pisses me off that you were out doing such a fantastic run on such a fantastic day. Bastard bollocky bastard!
And as for Trossachs winding down for Carnethy, I put my name down for that race too late (even though its got Scottish nationalistic, William Wallace or should I say Mel Gibson ;), Braveheart, stuff the Sassanachs overtones) and ended up 76th on the waiting list :(. Another bastard!
5 miles along the River Nidd. Starting to feel faster but a cold seems to be kicking in. There's always something!
7 miles round about this morning :D
72 miles on the Colnago this morning at a brisk rate of knots. Will save my running legs for Parbold hill race on Saturday. Back to work tonight
step-up session
4.3 km warm-up (zone 1/2)
4.3 km zone 3

My first run in the dark around Pex Hill using my Head torch really enjoyed it only did 4.12 mile for starters. Took a wee bit of adjusting to get the right angle but then it was great and really comfortable. Knowing my route helped a bit tonight looking forward to using it Next Thursday on the recce around Helsby Hill with a few of the forumites.
5 mile in the morning. (ok, nearly lunchtime when I finally got out of bed)
10 mile tonight with middle 30 minutes at hard tempo pace.
45 minutes circuit training and a 6 mile club road run. I haven't done circuit for yonks but it was a doddle - just shows how fit fell running can make you :)
First off road run in a month 12miles and 2120ft of climb(thats the style Jamie, build up slow).
Visited Darwen tower and Great Hill
My knee felt okay, took it easy on the down hills. I was really blowing going up the hills and had to walk up Great Hill. Lots quite a bit of fitness and put a bit of weight on.
road bike. 61.2 km (1167m ascent) over Rushup to Hope and back... back to winter then, didn't want to leave the fire in the Woodbine.
18 Miles on the moors around Stalybridge/Tintwistle/Hollingworth, great day for running
4m to work on singlespeed, pedalled all the way up Ripponden bank, done it before but not at 5 in the morning. Finish at dinnertime, 20 mile including 5.5 mile climb up through Cragg Vale from Mytholmroyd, cold wind coming back into Ripponden from Blackstone Edge. Now thawing me feet out:cool:
just 3 Mles after yesterdays 18, found this very tough as i normally rest after a long run !, anyone any views on this, is it better to rest ?

Good day for it but all the streams where frozen so getting water high up was a problem, even some springs were not flowing.
Hopefully get another 8 tomorrow this time on tarmac:(
Only a short 4.2 mile this morning at 8am at 6.50 a mile pace. Felt strong after yesterdays Parbold Hill race. Had hoped to be able to do the Radcliffe trail race but work and family commitments have come first today.
17.23 miles/ 3717ft total ascent 3h1min19secs. 90% off road. Fantastic weather and cracking views over Rishworth moor. Took the wrong path and ended up on wrong side of Green Withins reservoir had to take a detour through knee deep bog. Surprised it was'nt frozen. Bloody good fun, needed a big run like this for some time. Surprisingly i feel great now. Beer tonight, don't have to get up in the morning:D :D :D :D
Won't have too much though, promise. Gonna drag road bike out of deph's of cellar tomorrow, ain't been out on it this year.

Ran a club 5 hour score event. top training and my legs are tattooed with Peak Peat, Scrubbed them for an hour and all i'm getting is even more sore legs.
Total distance 23.2 miles and 3,500 ft.
5.5 miles over the only excuse I have for a "hill" around here. It's the first time I've been over it this year. I also fell over and now can't cough without my ribs hurting! :(
Fab day today over here too. Up Beamsley Beacon from home on 'Owl' route, bit of a trot round by the grouse butts and back down the way the BOFRA race goes up. Interesting inversion with only top of Ilkley Moor visible over the valley

Couple of beers now then off for an early night.;)
On the wagon for a month from tomorrow.
No run! (Again!)

Going to take another day off tomorrow and then see how I am Tuesday.
